Alba Orbital Ltd

I have worked with Tom from the early days of Alba Orbital and seen it grow at first hand. There is a lovely camaraderie amongst the team and I thoroughly enjoy problem solving with them. Alba encompasses the best of startup spirits with plenty of out the box thinking, and challenging traditional paradigms. I have had great pleasure working with the Alba team and its an honour to be a part of their story. Nothing short of 5 stars could do justice to Alba.

Having recently visited Alba Orbital I was very impressed by the scope of work being undertaken by Tom and his team. The company is making possible the access to space that small groups and educational establishments have long been yearning for. They are doing this by challenging the long held industry and regulatory roadblocks often experienced by small entities looking for access to space. As a result of their successes in this area they have to date successfully deployed into orbit six small satellites for their customers. These small satellites or PocketQubes" were deployed from the company's own deployers or "Albapods". I was also very impressed by the work being undertaken to develop the company's "Unicorn" satellite platforms and their associated electronics

There are two reasons I've given Alba Orbital 5 stars. The first is because they are a great example of a UK startup that actually makes something cool! Making bits of kit like those in the photos is not easy - especially when it has to be designed to a standard that will allow launch into space (which they have successfully done). The second reason for the 5 stars is for their business management. Getting Alba off the ground (sorry ;) can not have been easy, and transitioning to a profitable company employing staff even harder. So well done indeed.

Very helpful team, especially Tom who runs it. They have helped many satellite developer teams from start to launch and even post launch. They have range of capabilities including, satellite integration, testing, launch aggregation, post launch groundstation support, pre-made PocketQube buses and thier best in class albapod which is lightest and most advanced PocketQube deployer and is mainstay of the buisness model

Alba Orbital helped us to get our small PocketQube satellites SMOG-P and ATL-1 into orbit in December 2019. They have also contributed, from an administrative and technical point of view, to these successful missions. They are working hard to bring their partners' devices into space. Our satellite developer team are grateful to the communicative and cooperative young team of Alba for contributing to our success, SMOG-P and ATL-1 are still working fine and sending the scientific measurement results from space.

I’ve had the pleasure of working with Tom and Alba Orbital for a few years. The company has come leaps and bounds over the last few years and is absolutely the world-leader in pocketqube technology - especially if you want to get your pico-satellite into orbit!Alba Orbital developed their technology with full technical oversight of the European Space Agency so they come with a great quality stamp of approval.If you need an expert in picosats then Alba is 100% the place to start.

Alba Orbital is the premier PocketQube developer working with businesses and institutions to make space available to far more people. It was wonderful to tour the facilities and talk with their experts in satellite design.

I learned a great deal about embedded programming, satellite communications and GUI development. Everyone at Alba is keen to help and offer feedback, even when they have a lot on their plate themselves.It's a great place for learning new things. Space is quite limited in the office, however. I enjoyed tackling the difficult and interesting challenges my job presented almost everyday, as well as talking with my colleagues.
