War Years Remembered Museum

Im by no means someone who is interested in military history, however the collection at war years remembered is breathtaking.It does an excellent job of challenging narratives about British and Irish identity through the war which was a really enriching experience.

Went along to WAR YEAR REMEMBERED to day and what a well put together exibxit of items from the 1st and 2nd World wars. I would recommend this to the various schools to learn about their history of the war and the social end of the way people got through it.

Very well laid out museum. David was very friendly and welcoming to us. The museum itself is nothing short of a gem in this country professionally put together with genuine artifacts. The volunteer staff make you feel welcome and are informative on each subject. This is definitely worth a visit and deserves recognition by local government. Highly recommended.

Unbelievable experience! What an amazing find this museum is - the years of dedication it must have taken to get this truly wonderful collection together is astounding. The research is personal and heart-felt, a true dedication and remembrance to those who served and for some who paid the ultimate sacrifice. The museum is a simple and easy to understand visual experience. There is a display of WW1 trench life showing equipment and conditions for the men and horses. Then there is the home front covering both World Wars, medals and uniforms, photographs, vehicles, equipment and much more. The volunteers and David made us feel very welcome and went out of their way to give information about the items on display and even allowed us to sit on some of the vehicles! This museum deserves to be in the centre of Belfast and would give a fascinating insight to anyone visiting - so make the effort and visit!

I was saddened to hear this place is to close soon due to a lack of funds.This place and its staff volunteer to keep a shared history in Northern Ireland alive and remembered.It is so hard to find a place like this in Ireland. A place that is impartial and tells both sides of the story. It like hens eggs rare.The amazing exhibition, amazing volunteers amazing day out.Don't let this place close. Spread the word .

Fantastic collection of WW1 & 2 artifacts, and very well put-together displays.Staff were friendly and very knowledgeable.Not just about the big events of the wars - there's good focus on real people of the era, with lots of photos and personal artifacts too.Some very unique items that other museums would be proud to have.Definitely well worth a visit!

One of the best wartime museums I have visited, you will be immersed in history throughout WW1 and 2 while realizing the part Ireland played. Authentic and rare items ranging from heavy machinery to small personal items from the soldiers. David is extremely friendly and knowledgeable and more than happy to answer any questions you may have!This is a must visit for anyone with an interest or passion for history, especially WW1 and 2. I will be back for sure!

Very educational and insightful trip about the impact of the 2nd World War where we live.

Went with a bus tour today... the guide was by far the most informative and friendly person. They told stories that would chill ... i have never saw a collection of historical items like it ever..for anyone reading this YOU NEED TO VISIT THIS PLACE !!

I went to this place thinking that it was just a small collection of items ... I honestly couldn't believe the amount of stuff they had...I absolutely loved it and the tour guide we had was excellent...his knowledge of things was very good and he was only too willing to share it with us...a must see
