Visited in June whilst celebrating wedding anniversary. Ably served by Nathan and others. One member of staff in particular following us on leaving to congratulate us. Enjoyed a special glass of Middleton very rare. Simply gorgeous and to be savored. Visiting again on 12 Aug with group of 6 for food and drinks for another celebration. They have set a high bar for themselves. Here's hoping. And so, 12 Aug, we visited again, with friends this time. To celebrate our friends 40th wedding anniversary. Booked specific table in advance ably assisted by Chris (over the phone). Arrived on the day and table was prepped. Ordered drinks which were provided promptly (could do with a larger available range of 0% beers). Food order taken and again delivered promptly..... but .... the stew (2x persons portions) was not warm enough and had to be returned for replate and re heat. Also the battered fish ( 1 person) when cut into had not been cooked long enough and was shown translucent flesh. This was swiftly dealt with by Eimear and fresh cooked portion re-provided swiftly. All portions of food once satisfactorily supplied were very ample and tasty. Staff were super helpful and apologetic around the issues. Despite being very busy on a Saturday afternoon, we were not hunted off our table but simply advised that next booking was for 6.30pm Our table was attended by a number of staff through the afternoon. In particular, Eimear - knowledgeable assertive and seemed in control of events. Also an exemplary member of staff - Chris, who had been helpful over the phone, turned out to be the person of mention on our previous visit in June and also yesterday on 12 Aug, Chris showed that he could go the extra service mile in sorting out our bill and correcting it too. Staff like Chris and Eimear would make us want to return and would also ensure our recommendation of this venue to others. Their worth to the hospitality business (and to White's) needs to be appreciated. Strongly recommended.

If you ever go to Belfast make sure that you go eat at this place. We found it by chance walking down the street. I had the Seafood chowder and it was out of this world delicious, the best I ever had.( and yes for the ones that wonder if I had ever eaten at fancy restaurants, one of them The French Laundry" in Yountville CA) my Husband had the Burger and my daughter the breaded chicken sandwich everything was amazingly delicious!!"

This is a lovely looking pub and I had high expectations of this place. The pub is clean and tidy. With friendly staff all was looking good.My partner ordered a chicken stack. The mash and chicken was first class she said and the Tobacco onion were delicious.I ordered the fish and chips and when it came it looked amazing. Mind you I’m not sure why restaurants put salad with fish and chips? It’s like putting custard with beef, in my opinion it’s not right together. The chips tasted so strange, I’m not sure if it was the oil they were cooked in or not but they were not my cup of tea. The fish half was a little soggy and the other half was ok.So in a nutshell my partners meal was really good and mine was not very good at all. Shame as the place looks a really good place and the atmosphere was good and staff really nice.I don’t think I’d eat here again tho sadly.
