Mr Alfredo Tonsi - General and Colorectal Surgeon

My experience of Mr. Tonsi is that he has been outstanding throughout. His advice re my severe ulcerative colitis was very clear and informative. He has a charming ,kind and reassuring manner and I knew that I would be in a safe pair of hands when he undertook a very long and complicated operation to successfully remove my colon by keyhole surgery and replace with a stoma .His post op. visits while I was in hospital recovering were also very thorough and his follow-up at outpatients also thorough with examination and advice.Romina has also been an excellent secretary to Mr Tonsi and they clearly liaise very well .Thoroughly excellent team to be highly recommended.

Mr Tonsi is amazing consultant. Very patient oriented and he would do extra mile for his patients .

I would highly recommend Mr Tonsi. I saw him recently at the Monetefiore Hospital in Hove - the private consultation fee was worth every penny. He is incredibly knowledgeable and explained everything to me very well. He is also very thorough and has a lovely bed side manner. I would also like to mention how wonderful his secretary is, Romina. She has been so quick at getting back to me with every query, no matter how big or small. Mr Tonsi and Romina are compassionate people and have given me a lot of reassurance and support at a worrying time.

I would like to thank MR Tonsi for the very caring way he dealt with my recent procedure as this could have been a very stressful experience for me, as I have never had a major operation before. He was always there to provide reassurance and advice. Many thanks to him and the staff at the Nuffield.

Given the current economy and what is happening with the NHS/Private, it is sometimes worrying to be seen as a number on a file rather than a patient, however I'm extremely happy that in this case it is reassuring that we have found Mr Tonsi who is not only great and talented at what he does but also reassuring that he sees his patients as people who need help and support. I am truly grateful for everything that Dr Tonsi has done for me. From the outset, he has been generous with his time and explained everything clearly so I knew that having surgery was the best option for me. He has been able to offer guidance, reassurance and support both pre and post surgery. The procedure went very well (and the aftercare), which is down to Dr Tonsi’s expertise.
