We visited during a quiet time. Earlier they had up to 40 visitors through the morning. So we had a chance to talk to the volunteers and came away with some new knowledge. Very good!

A hidden gem full of fascinating history. Local home made cakes...oh yes please. Attached to the nearby village church which is worth visiting in its own right. Lovely little cafe staffed by local volunteers. A little gem

Such a lovely place to visit on a walk round the reservoir, indoor and outdoor seating. I had coffee and the very best Millionaire's Shortbread ever!!! Staffed by volunteers. Excellent service.

Small heritage centre and volunteer run cafe next to Farnley church. Lots of information in centre and the church about history of Washburn valley and Fairfax family, famous in civil war. Very popular for afternoon tea. Only disappointment is that it's only open at weekends.

A decent place to pop into as you do a walk around the reservoir. Includes everything you need: hot beverages, snacks & tasty cakes, lavatories and indoor seating to warm up. Walls feature interesting info about local attractions and history. However, do note that it can get really busy and you might struggle to find a table to sit.
