The Old Dairy Holiday Cottages

After such a long winter lockdown in the UK this stay at Old Dairy Farm cottage 2 was just what we needed. I chose cottage 2 specifically for the bath, the entrance opening into the hallway, and the beautiful restored wooden beams throughout the cottage. Everything was absolutely perfect and felt very clean and safe. It was located centrally in the Forest of Dean, nowhere was further than 20 mins away and we did several walks & hikes per day. It was quiet and peaceful, which my husband and I appreciated after working our minds off in the public service through the pandemic. Our mini schnauzer loved it too! Thank you for such a wonderful stay.

This place is fabulous - perfect for couples. It was spotless and lots of lovely little touches which really made us (and our dogs) feel welcome. Lovely enclosed patio which was safe for our lively spaniels and where we could relax with a glass of wine. Would highly recommend.

Having arrived late, first priority was a cuppa and drink for little dog Rolo, who settled straight away as he could safely be allowed to wander in and out.Cottage very comfy, excellent facilities, perfect location for walking, some great dog friendly pubs, altogether a most enjoyable stay. I would highly recommend these cottages to anyone who is looking for an escape to the countryside. Before we even arrived at the cottage we were impressed by the service we received from Lorraine. She was extremely helpful by sending us useful information about the cottage and surrounded areas and was happy to answer any questions we had. When we arrived to the cottage it was so clean and tidy; the bed was perfectly made and there was even milk left in the fridge for us. The cottage is equipped with everything you could need for a few days away and we definitely plan on returning the next time we need an escape away! Couldn't fault it

Lovely clean and well equipped cottage. Lots of nice touches to make us and our Border Collie very welcome. Perfect location to set off for walks in the Forest. Would love to come back.

This place is amazing, perfectly located for long walks and the scenery is wonderful. The accommodation was very welcoming and had all we needed to make our stay very comfortable, wonderfully furnished throughout. Lorraine had left us fresh fruit and breakfast bits, a lovely touch. We will definitely be returning.

The Old Dairy was bright, clean, warm and welcoming. It was well equipped for everything one might need for a short or longer break in the Forest of Dean. I liked the ethos on re-cycling and re-use of food waste. Wi-Fi strength was very good. I could not get a phone signal in the cottage, but I noticed that this was true for the area generally due to the geography. Jubilee Road is a no-through road, so there is very little traffic, with only the sounds of cows, sheep and nature, adding to the relaxing atmosphere.I would certainly stay here again, and would recommend it.

Me, my fiancé and pooch had the most amazing stay at Number 1, The Old Dairy. From the moment we arrived we was smiling from the beautiful, tranquil location. The parking was superb at the cottage. I was so pleasantly surprised at how perfectly clean the cottage was and how lovely, warm and cozy it was. It had everything we needed. Prior to having a dog I would’ve thought twice about staying somewhere dog friendly if I’m honest but if I knew about this place and that you’d never know a dog has stepped foot inside, I would’ve booked a long time ago. It was perfect for us and I’ve recommended the cottage to my parents who are not pet owners!We had some amazing walks around either from the cottage or by driving up to The Wilderness or Symonds yat.We had a lovely lunch in The Farmers Boy inn and also a just eat delivery from them. A beautiful, peaceful location yet close to the Forest of Dean and all it has to offer. I found it very comfortable and relaxing with all the amenities I wanted. The lane to the cottage is a little narrow but my main problem was the spectacular view across the valley which made it hard to concentrate on the road,

So clean, cosy and perfect location to explore. Comfy bed, tasty complementary scones. Enclosed patio so our dog was safe to sniff outside. Our first dog friendly holiday and it was just perfect, thank you so much.
