Tim Wright Fine Violins
I phoned to arrange an appointment, and Helen very kindly arranged for me to see Tim on the same day! Tim was extremely friendly and helpful. He gave me an honest appraisal of my violin and advised me AGAINST buying a new bow. I was then able to try some of the many wonderful instrumentswhich he had on display. All in all, a most enjoyable experience - I cannot recommend him highly enough.

Tim Wright Fine Violins
This is an outstanding shop for players at all levels. I've seen Helen and Tim skillfully assist young players in finding their first instrument, ensuring that the violin or viola fits well and is set up correctly for easy playing. I've also seen them generously guide advanced players (including me) to beautiful violins and bows. I don't hesitate to recommend their services to young or old or anybody in between!

Tim is not only a good violinist but also a very friendly, kind and knowledgeable dealer. The maker's stories of his instruments on the website are very interesting to read and you will see his love for his instruments. He gave me lots of useful advice and honest opinions even when I brought violins from other dealers. Very trustworthy!

Tim and Helen are so friendly and welcoming but above all knowledgable. Their advice is always helpful and considered and there is never any pressure. It is always a pleasure to visit the shop. I would happily recommend them to every violinist needing a violin or advice on their current instrument.

Tim Wright Fine Violins
Tim and Helen were incredibly helpful in the process of trying out the instrument that I wanted to purchase. They are both musicians, so they understand exactly what one needs in order to get the best out of the whole experience of trying out different instruments. Their selection and variety of instruments could satisfy any professional musician. If you are a violinist looking to purchase a violin, you have the luxury of listening to Tim playing on it as well!

As an Edinburgh amateur violinist, one of my greatest joys is visiting Tim Wright Fine Violins. I always receive a warm greeting. Tim and his wife Helen are both very knowledgable and enthusiastic about violins and bows. They are endlessly patient with me and are delighted to discuss instruments. I have learnt a lot from them. I also recently purchased an 18th century Italian violin from Tim and Helen and am delighted with my new instrument.The shop is a jewel and Tim and Helen are excellent.
