Affinity Dog Training & Behaviour

Charlotte is a natural with animals. Knowledgeable, professional but most of all calm and nurturing with the dogs she works with. I was a bit sceptical that my crazy cockerpoo puppy would ever learn to walk to heel or leave a tasty treat uneaten on the floor. However, after only a few training sessions with Charlotte, my dog was listening to me and following my instructions. Charlotte very evidently loves her work and I would highly recommend her dog training classes.

Charlotte is a wonderful dog trainer. She came to the house for several hours for a1:1 with our pup as he had a few challenging behaviours which were causing us stress as new puppy parents. She is calm and non- judgemental explaining everything and trying out various techniques. She suggested collars and leads to suit our pup and simple homemade items to help with the behaviours. She emailed us a full report and summary of everything we learnt and was available for a follow up call when we had queries. Charlotte is very knowledgable and her techniques work. We will be returning to her for further advice as needed.

Charlotte has helped me train my very excitable Labrador pup into this well trained adult. She is calm and the dogs and trainees respond well to her.All excellent, can thoroughly recommend her.

Our new puppy was very large, very confident and very excitable, at one time I was not sure I could cope, but our puppy has become a joy to have and all thanks to Charlotte and her dog classes. I had no idea what to expect from the puppy classes as a first time puppy mummy. Charlotte advised on relationship based training, from holding the leash to having my boy focus on me. Charlotte explained each and every step of training really well. I ensure that I go to places to for walks where there are less people and dogs. As a result, the relationship between my puppy and I has improved significantly. Charlotte was right, that we as the fur parents should be having fun with our furbies rather than them relying on stimulation from other dogs when outdoors. I would certainly recommend puppy classes with Charlotte. Also Charlotte’s assistant is also very helpful and lovely.

Even though I have had the same breed all my life and considered myself knowledgeable when it came to dog training, I can't recommend Charlotte highly enough. The nine week puppy class equips owners with the skills and knowledge needed to raise a well-behaved puppy, but what's more is that Charlotte continued to go above and beyond in how helpful she is. She would happily send voice notes/video clips/arrange phone calls to help with queries/issues in between classes, and continues to be a source of support and advice even after the sessions have ended.Pip is a fairly anxious puppy and Charlotte has helped us begin to overcome numerous issues that come hand-in-hand with anxiety and nervousness.Raising a puppy is hard work at the best of times but I can say with certainty it would have been a lot lot harder without Charlotte's training sessions, advice and support!

Charlotte has been an amazing teacher in both our 1 to 1 home training sessions as well as a group training course we attended. Charlotte is very approachable, clear and knowledgable. I highly recommend that anyone with a new puppy reaches out to Charlotte!The 9 week puppy course was perfect for our adolescent puppy to learn the basics. They were small intimate classes which are perfect as you feel like your needs are being met and this enables Charlotte to give you clear and tailored feedback on each task. We have learnt so much each week and looked forward to coming.We have also had two 1 to 1 sessions with Charlotte to work on specific issues with our puppy, specifically biting and stealing things like socks and clothes. Charlotte armed us with the techniques to help combat these undesirable behaviours and helped us to understand where these behaviours may be coming from. From using the techniques provided we have already seen a marked improvement in these behaviours.Charlotte is a great teacher and makes training your puppy less daunting and a more fun and positive experience. She’s 100% helped us improve our relationship with our puppy and we now have a well behaved 8 month old puppy. I couldn’t recommend her enough!

Such a great training class - I feel so much more confident with my puppy and he has definitely learnt a range of tricks, commands and good behaviours from it. Charlotte is so lovely and understanding which really helps so thank you for the support!

I have had both the group training classes and one to ones with Charlotte and they were both excellent. My dogs behaviour has really improved through the strategies Charlotte has given me. Would thoroughly recommend to other people looking to train their dogs.

I contacted Charlotte as our 5 year old Springador had developed a compulsion to chase shadows and reflections. This was exacerbated during lockdown, when our household was busier than usual, leading to Orla’s obsessions becoming wearing and stressful for her, as well as for us. Having tried training her for endless hours myself, combined with various calming methods and supplements we were advised by our vet to try a low dose of calming medication, combined with behavioural therapy. She hoped the medication would help her to focus on the training.Charlotte spent about 4 hours with Orla and me. She carried out a thorough assessment of all aspects of Orla, and her life within our family, in a relaxed, knowledgeable and friendly way, before giving me some verbal advice, initial written information and some techniques to begin practicing straightaway.Charlotte followed up her visit by providing us with a detailed written training plan, which we have put in place ever since.Orla is still a very active dog, and has a lovely nature, but she is definitely learning to control her impulses resulting in a calmer and peaceful life for us all.Thoroughly recommended!
