From first contact to return of car the professional, friendly and helpful service provided by Laura and the Jim’s Garage Hire team was exemplary - definitely the best experience I ever had in hiring a car. From being picked up at the cruise ship and taken to the car (which was immaculate) and having all the paperwork prepared and handed the keys took only 10 minutes in total. Really nice to be told to drop the car off at a car park close to the cruise ship and they would pick it up from there to save us any trouble in getting back to ship. 110% recommend Jim’s Garage Hire and will definitively use them again when we return to the beautiful Shetland islands.Ronnie

Perfect experience of renting a car. Customer service was excellent. We were met at the airport by a very friendly man who went out of his way to show us around the car and make us feel welcome in Shetland. The Fiesta was great to drive. Fell in love with Shetland and hope to come back one day.

The customer service for car rental at Jim’s Garage is excellent. From start to finish the experience is a pleasure, and the prices are very competitive. I especially value the convenience of the pick up and drop off at Sumburgh airport. In my experience they are the best car hire company in Shetland, and I now use them exclusively when I visit. The service from booking to return of the vehicle was excellent. Pick up was straight off the early morning ferry with clear helpful instructions. Support was available if needed and handing back the car was effortless. The team were friendly and helpful. Excellent customer service from this company from start to finish. Sharon was so helpful and reassuring when I wanted to book a car for the day. Since we were arriving on a cruise we needed the car easily available. This wasn’t a problem and I just called to say we had arrived at port. George dropped off the car 5 minutes later, paperwork was completed, payment made and away we went.Would definitely recommend Jim’s Garage for car hire on Shetland.

Jim’s Garage had amazing service, the car was fantastic and a good price. Simple and really convenient pick up getting off the ferry at Lerwick and easy return to the airport. Would highly recommend and would absolutely use again. Five stars.

Highly recommended, Had to hire a car at short notice in Shetland, Sharon at Jim's Garage couldn't have been more helpful - found us a car to pick up at the airport at a very good price. She met us (very) early at the airport to do the handover and I have to say this was probably the best car hire experience I have had - great price, excellent car and a totally stress free pick up and drop off.Next time we visit Shetland I will definitely use them again 10/10

The best car hire experience! We got very good information about hire terms and the car. Nice, clean car. Even got a bag with map, Island information and some delightful treats. Cheaper compared to others and with the service you can not choose anyone else. We even got a lift from the garage to the ferry terminal with our luggage after delivered the car. Excellent service and the nicest staff at the garage.

The service I received from this car rental garage was absolutely first class. The car was there on my arrival at Sunburgh airport, greeted by a smiley face and a card with my name on it. I was helped with my luggage and shown all the controls and instructions about who to contact if I came across a problem. I felt very confident to drive away and up to Lerwick and across the ferry to Lerwick. The car took me to all the many places I wanted to visit including this Beach at Bigton so I could walk around the whole of St Ninian’s Island.Returning the car was just as straightforward. I will be booking again for next year and recommend this service to anyone visiting Shetland.

We were in Lerwick on the cruise ship and booked a car from Jim's Garage. Ordering online went perfectly. A call upon arrival was enough and a few minutes later an employee arrived and handed over the car to us. The return to a parking lot was also uncomplicated. However, we initially had reservations about leaving the car unlocked (key storage behind the sun visor) in a public parking lot. But everything worked out great. I can only recommend it. Thank you very much for the great service!
