52 Old Elvet

Stayed at 52 Old elvet in various rooms as while working on a project in the Durham area. Short stay ended up being a few months. The most fantastic and nicest stay, with luxury fittings and amazing style. Amazing location and good views. The nicest pace I've stayed in Durham and surrounding areas.

Just arrived home from our first trip to Durham, we were staying in an apartment at 52 Old Elvet. There are a few apartments within this grand looking 300 year old townhouse . We were staying in the Kirkham apartment. Once you enter the building, there is a really nice carpeted staircase taking you up two floors to where our apartment was.Once inside after we had put our security code in, there is a modern, stylish sitting room with the modern kitchen just further round the corner.There's also a stylish shower room and towels are provided.Communication with the owners was brilliant and nothing was too much trouble for Daniel and Andy.The fridge had milk and orange juice in it for us, which was a nice touch.We went exploring Durham for the next few days taking in pubs and restaurants and a Riverside cruise.Sadly, all good things come to an endAs checkout was at 10am and our train wasn't until 2.30pm, we asked if it was possible to leave our luggage at the premises until then. Andy said that this was fine ,which we were grateful for.I honestly couldn't recommend this property high enough because it was so easy and straightforward to organise. The communication was informative and welcoming from our hosts.If you're looking to visit Durham, then give this place a try, you won't regret it.

Super clean, spacious apartments. Central location. 52 is always our preferred choice when visiting Durham. Best kept secret!

Living at 52 Old Elvet was perfect! Couldn't believe the size and luxury of the property when you get inside, and was the best place to live whilst working here. Would fully recommend to anyone!

Fantastic location. Great apartment, spotless and very comfortable. The hosts Andy and Daniel were very helpful from start to finish of weekend break. Highly recommend, and hopefully be back sooner than later.

52 Old Elvet is no doubt the most beautiful building in Durham with cathedral views and 5 star interiors. The best place to live and work when in the North East. Super central, clean, amazing kitchen, stunning high ceilings, and big gorgeous bright rooms. I can highly recommend this place, to anyone looking for a place to stay in Durham.

52 Old Elvet is without doubt, the place to stay in Durham, whether it’s for business or leisure. 52’s interiors sympathetically integrate Durham’s culture and history, something which is not always easily achievable when providing the mod cons as guests we now expect! Staying in the Kirkham was a fantastic choice. The class and elegance of the communal hall and grand staircase flow seamlessly into the apartment with high-spec furnishings and well thought-out little touches. A highly desirable location just minutes from the centre, a real gem of the city.

Recently stayed in this amazing property. The room (The Villiers) was beautifully furbished and very spacious. Location is also perfect situated in the heart of Durham. Will be staying here again.

I have been staying in Durham for years (for work), several weeks at a time in hotels and apartments etc and this is easily the best. Superb apartments, beautifully decorated, warm, comfortable and immaculately clean. I had a heating problem this evening and a plumber was here within 30 minutes (I am not kidding - it was 6.30pm), fixed the problem and the heaters were on 32 minutes after I sent the email. Owners are friendly, enthusiastic and determined to prove that theirs is the best place to stay in town. Difficult not to be impressed. You will not be disappointed.
