Seabirds-and-Seals - THE ORIGINAL & NO.1 NOSS BOAT TOURS

A truly wonderful experience to see the wildlife on the coast of Noss and Bressay. Marie and Brian were just fabulous. They were very welcoming, approachable and knowledgeable. We got some beautiful photographs and it was magic seeing the gannets diving up close. Although we visited right at the end of season, we still got to encounter plenty of birds and some rather lovely seals. Would definitely recommend the trip to anyone visiting Lerwick. In fact one couple on the trip had already been three times previously over the years!

Worth the trip to Shetland for this alone. We did the 3 hour to round Noss, and got so close to the sea birds in their colonies and over the water. Marie is a brilliant guide to all the nature, and Brian is clearly a skilled skipper (taking us through a rock arch) and pilots the underwater remote camera unit that adds an extra dimension to the trip. Highly recommended.

We went on this trip during our honeymoon and had a lovely time. They were friendly, we got lots of interesting information and the cup of tea and biscuits to warm up was a nice touch! To round off a great trip, Marie disappeared to get everyone postcards and returned back with a bottle of fizz for us for our honeymoon. We were blown away with the incredibly kind gesture, so generous and totally unexpected. Thank you!

Our Shetland Seabird Tour on The Noss Boat was definitely a highlight of our trip to Shetland. The number and variety of birds we were able to observe was amazing enough but how close they were to us made it even more impressive. Captain Phil is both an able boat skipper and very knowledgeable naturalist. If I'm ever able to return to Shetland in the future this is an experience that I will absolutely repeat.

Wonderful tour around Bressay and Noss! Marie knows so much about the islands and the birds and shares it all while on the tour. You have an audio headset so that you can hear all the great information. We learned a lot, which we weren't really expecting. Amazing views of scenic coasts and bird areas. We even saw a seal near the end. About halfway through the tour there is a break where they anchor and you get a nice cup of coffee or tea and a cookie which is nice too. I think you definitely need to go on a boat tour to experience Shetland and this one was well worth the money! Thanks, Marie and Marvin!

Our host was very knowledgeable about the area. We were lucky to have great weather on the day of the boat tour and they took us inside a cave and through a stone arch. They showed us the birds in the area and fed them fish so we could watch them dive! There was also a tea/coffee and biscuit break midway through the tour which was a lovely touch. 100% recommend to anyone visiting Shetland!

Marie and Marvin gave us a terrific experience. Marie gave a fascinating and fun commentary which was easy to listen to through the headsets provided. We were taken to cliffs and caves where we got to see lots of seabirds. The seals first popped up there. We visited the coastlines of two islands off the Shetland mainland which were beautiful. While we were out at sea Marie threw fish out and a huge flock of birds swirled the boat. Photo opp!During the trip we anchored and Marie had tea, coffee and biscuits ready for us - great cuppa. On the way back we saw lots of seals close to Shetland harbour. This was a really great experience. We recommend it. Thanks Marie and Marvin

I was traveling on my own for a few days in the Shetland Islands and saw their ad in one of the visitor brochures I'd picked up. I jumped online immediately and was fortunate to snag a spot on a tour on my last day in town, before heading out on the ferry that evening. What a treat! I'm not a birder at all, but Marie is a gifted tour guide and made the trip a pleasant mix of wildlife, terrain and just general local information. The provided headphones made it very easy to hear every word she was saying, and the many pairs of available binoculars allowed for close up viewing of the topics being discussed. The Bressay and Noss area is beautiful, and the sheer quantity of birds was astounding to me. Brian stopped or slowed the boat at the area highlights so we could take quality photos. They were both very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. I highly recommend this tour!

Very cool boat tour with an interested, friendly and well-informed guide and a very friendly skipper. Together they take you to the birds, seals and the most beautiful views. Highly recommended.

Marie and Brian have a world class tour out to Noss to see the birds! Very accommodating to the passengers. They contacted us when our scheduled day’s weather wasn’t looking good to see if we could change days. Very knowledgeable about the birds and getting the best pictures. We’d go again
