Brilliant experience from start to finish. Tasty food, attentive and thoughtful service and wonderful atmosphere. My friend enthused about Gem 42 and to be honest, all of it it is well-deserved and perhaps, more! This is truly a gem in Newport. Expect that it will get a Michelin star soon.

However, my experience at Gem 42 was truly outstanding, from the moment I walked through the door, I was genuinely impressed by the warm and cordial welcome extended to me by the staff. Their professionalism and attentiveness throughout the evening enhanced every aspect of the dining experience.What truly set Gem 42 apart was the exceptional quality of their food, which seamlessly combined locally sourced produce with an enticing Italian twist. Each dish was meticulously prepared and presented, demonstrating the chef's dedication to culinary perfection. The exquisite flavours and creative combinations showcased the immense talent and skill of the kitchen team. A must go if you're in Wales. An unassuming location with Michelin star quality food. Creative, delicious and the presentation is exceptional along with their attentive service. We had the 6 course delicious tasting menu, and every dish will have a twist/surprise. Signature Scallop, waygu beef, impressive display of starters and sprinkles of palette cleansers in between - you will not be left disappointed. Hope to be back!

We had waited for a while to get our booking, my goodness was it worth the wait.Chef Sergio is an incredible chef and his team are producing culinary works of art, well doneOverall an amazing experience! Had the Chef Signature tasting menu with wine pairing, everything was faultless, the food was just so good, the pairings perfectly complemented and the service was impeccable.The price is definitely reasonable. I'd definitely go back!

Like walking into Alice's Wonderland for the most delicious, crafted, taste sensations. Each presented with a story of their design by the attentive family at Gem42. Thank you, Chef and all. Highly recommended, certainly is the best restaurant dining experience.
