What a gem of a golf course this is. Thoroughly enjoyed our golf day here on a course where every hole is a signature hole! Very friendly welcome from all the staff and the members.

4 of us played here a couple of weeks ago, at a cost of £700 for the 4 of us. Unfortunately despite only moderate rainfall, several of the greens were completely flooded and we were not told this before going out which was frustrating given the travel and greenfly paid.Worse still, a polite email to the club afterwards went completely ignored.At £700 for a 4-ball we expected better service than this, as one does at Sunningdale / Wentworth or any of the other local courses with higher than average green fees.

The course was in superb condition as always and the service in club house was equally good. Excellent lunch and mouthwatering choices of dessert.

An absolute gem of old school golf course. Before now last played in the 90s nothing much changed. Staff and hospitality superb all the old favourites steak and kidney pie, treacle tart, syrup sponge and custard. The rough is now cut between the first and 18th but the rest of the course is the same as I remember it. Miss the fairway or green and you will be punished but not long only 6000 yards and playing well you could rip it up. But truly a Colt classic which looks good on the eye and a delight to play but far from the hardest course you will play. Historic golf far removed from the modern game of length and power. Hardly anyone on the course other than a few members with their dogs. Hidden In Ascot an timeless classic.

Unbelievable course and quality hospitality. Very lucky to play there annually.

Golf very much in keeping with the old traditions of the game.On paper, you look at the card and think this looks fairly straightforward, the reality is very different. This is a tough course for those who are erratic off the tee. The heather awaits and on most holes, there's no bailout. The heather is very punitive, which can be frustrating as it's hard to find the ball, let alone get it out. The course is also very well bunkered. It's definitely a course where selective use of the driver is the smart strategy.There's a wonderful variety of holes that will test all parts of your game. The condition is first class, albeit one suggestion would be to get a cut and collect cutter for the rough, currently the cut grass lies on top, which can hide the ball, just off the fairway.The professional shop is well stocked for men, no ladies clothing. The team there are friendly and courteous.We didn't manage to experience the dining albeit the homemade fruit cake was perfect for a mid afternoon calorie boost.At £200 a round, it's not inexpensive, but it's a certainly a special experience.

Beautiful golf course and clubhouse with a special atmosphere. Not a long course but all the better for it, tight fairways, punishing heather and some tricky greens make it a great test of skill and thinking. A wonderful experience, not to be missed for a keen golfer.

Wow, wow, wow! I am in awe.As a golfer, this was a course I had dreamed of playing for the last several years, and it was a dream fulfilled! First and foremost, every person we met during our day could not have been more pleasant. A big thank you to the pro-shop staff, as well as the bar staff, but even more to the members! In every review I have read, I have come across some reference to how unpretentious Swinley Forest is, and this is truly true.There is so much to be said about every single hole on this course that I could write chapters on each one; however, I urge you to put it top your bucket list and experience the wonder for yourself.
