Recently opened. Our first visit.Food excellent - tried sushi, sashimi, gyoza and miso soup. Presentation beautiful. Made even more special by the lovely welcoming staff. We’ll be back!

Yamato is a jewel - the ideal complement to everything else on offer in Nether Edge Village (I live nearby). With decades of experience running Japanese restaurants, owner Daniel still has all the magic in his sushi fingers (my Ocean Dragon Maki was perfect), and Jerry (front of house) outsmiles even the waving good-luck cats all around. For my main course I chose the classic Chicken Katsu, and was just as delighted. Delicious. For a quick bite or a longer meal, Yamato is just right (and shockingly good value). Make sure to pop in while you can still get a table!

Absolutely beautiful little place and the food was way beyond expectations. Gone now are the days of Wagamomas when this is on the doorstep.Very friendly staff to and highly recommend
