Withy Field Car Park

Be very careful parking here if paying cash. I have recently been fined £60 because they could not trace my payment, (which was paid on arrival, registration entered etc ) even after appealing!!

AVOIDPaid £2 for 24 Hours, Stayed for about 3 hours, got a letter in the post with a Charge" of £60/£100 because I took 13 Minutes to pay for my parking instead of the allowed 10 minutes from entering the car park.Phone signal is terrible

I read the reviews before arriving at this car park, so had the parking app installed and paid via app when I arrived. It was cheaper to pay by app than to pay for ticket by cash. Short walk to harbour.

The car park itself is fine and convenient for town and harbour. Prices are fair. BUT BEWARE. PPS are operating a scam on those who pay cash. Take a photo of your ticket, and your car parked with the ticket on display. If you pay by card you have proof of purchase. Otherwise they send out a Parking Charge Notice a week later, demanding £100 or Court Action if not paid - reduced to £60 if paid within 14 days of the notice - reason: No Trace of Payment. Unless they have a foot patrol to take photos with time and date stamp, they have no way to tell who has or has not paid by cash! Keep your ticket and take a photo! Be Warned - this is a con! Report to local council if you get scanned by PPS. Spoils the reputation of a lovely seaside town.

Shocking- paid for our parking about 2 mins after the 15 min time limit after taking ages to download the app then ended up battling the very aggressive parking company who took me to court despite paying the £2 for the all day parking ( we stayed about 3 hours) !! all during eat out to help out in lockdown- the machine didn't take cash or cards and we had to walk to get enough reception to download the app . It’s caused me unbelievable amounts of stress and cost me a fortune. Be warned!

Small car park on outskirts of picturesque Porthleven, run by a local organisation (CIC) Charges are reasonable at 1.40 for 2 hours or 3.50 all day. All the money goes back into the community. Only a short 10 min walk into the village, where parking is at a premium.

Good proximity to the harbour (10min walk) and fair priced (£2 for several hours). Can be paid with RingGo app too.

Parked here when visiting for a few hours had no cash due to coronavirus and businesses generally not accepting cash. Took several attempts to use the gopay app paid for 24 hours only stayed for 3 hours but got a fine of £100 due to delayed payment. Beware ...Will be taking it further and contacting the parish council regarding this disproportionate response when the signal is not great. Spoke to another couple who had had the same problem so obviously not an isolated issue from the reviews .
