Astral Lodge Residential Care Home

My Auntie moved into Astral Lodge a couple of weeks before lockdown. Jane and the Care Team were always very accommodating. They cared very well for my Auntie and kept us up to date with any progress. They included her in all the activities which she really enjoyed. I certainly would not hesitate to recommend Astral Lodge Care Home. So thankful and grateful how they have taken care of my Auntie. She is very fond of them all. Thanks always to Jane and the Care Team - you do a great job!!

My mother was assigned to Astral Lodge for respite care after leaving hospital. Mum was in the home for approx 7 weeks. She needed quite a lot of support on the physical level although her mental capacity is in tact. Mum fed back to us consistently that the staff couldn't be kinder and met her care needs very well although did sometimes feel isolated because many of the residents had dementia. Jane, the manager, could not be more helpful and accommodating with any requests Mum or the family made. My only feedback would be that the visiting appointment system is restricted and could be more flexible to incorporate those who work (ie offering evening appointments) also the visiting room could have been more welcoming and cosy. Overall Mum's was a positive and did the trick in getting her mobilised and back home. We are very grateful to all the staff who supported Mum with kindness and care.

Our dear uncle Brian was looked after so well at Astral Lodge, they made his last years of his life very comfortable. They also involved our family in all decisions of his care. Brian always seemed happy when we visited and always looked clean and well cared for. We will be forever greatful to Jayne and her team for all they have done for both Uncle Brian and our family

My mother has been in Astral Lodge for just under a year now and seems to be happy in the home. I would like to thank Jane and the staff for the care they are giving my mother at the age of 93. Hopefully i will be able to start visiting her again soon.

My mother has been a resident of Astral Lodge Carehome for 4 years now and I have been very pleased and happy with her care in all that time . My mother ( who is 93 years old) always tells me she is very happy there.Jane, who is manager at the home, is always very helpful and contacts me if she has any concerns about Mum. The staff are all very friendly and helpful and activities are organised every so often to keep the residents happy and active. Also little treats now and then.I know that I and my mother ,who enjoys talking to all the staff ,will be very happy for her to go on living there for as long as she can.

Jane and her amazing team looked after mum on a couple of occasions for respite care. They couldn't do enough for her and made her feel so welcome, I knew she was safe there and they would look after her, which gave me peace of mind and allowed me to have a break. I would 100% recommend Astral Lodge.

Our Mum was a resident at Astral Lodge for a number of years before her demise earlier this year. We always found the staff friendly and welcoming - one big happy family and the care Mum received was excellent. Doctors advised us that she was at end of life in January 2019 however with the care, love and attention she received by Jane and her staff and sheer determination on her part she survived for 14 months ,finallypassing at the end of March this year.

MY mum was welcomed in to the home after Dad was rushed into hospital in July. Mum is happy and has come out of her quiet dementia shell. I live away so phone and FaceTime Mum who looks well and most of all happy . MY Brother has visited Mum and said the same , The staff are lovely and kind and always helpful and committed to there jobs, A big thank you for all you do.

Mum has dementia and was welcomed and helped to adjust to living away from home in a kindly and professional way. She has settled in well and seems to now be enjoying living there. We were pleased to see videos of her birthday celebrations and also a sing song she was involved in. a lovely touch. Mum seems to be well-looked after, stimulated and happy. The staff seem to be very nice.

The lovely staff at Astral Lodge made the final three years of my Aunts life very comfortable. She always used to tell me how lovely and kind all the 'girls' were who cared for her. I always had 100% confidence in everyone at Astal Lodge, and It has a very 'home from home' feel, so no hesitation in recommending Astral Lodge.
