Nice spot for a short walk but be prepared for lots of mud.

A beautiful, peaceful place for a peatland walk. It's well away from the traffic and a great place to do a spot of birdwatching, pond dipping or simply have a pleasant dander along the pathways.

Lovely secluded spot, perfect for birdwatching and seeing the dragonflies/damselflies and wildflowers in summer. Remember that it is a bog however so probably best to wear walking boots if the weather is wet!

Very little signage and paths are badly maintained, but bring your boots and it's brilliant. A really unspoilt nature reserve, with birds and wildlife everywhere. It's muddy and wet and easy to get lost, but it's small enough so that is no big deal. Great for a walk, especially with adventurous kids. There is a lot of standing water though and the paths are narrow in places so do keep an eye on them.

Beautiful area for a walk in the middle of the country yet close enough to a town.

Trail on ramparts through a peat bog.Walked this route in Springtime and early autumn and found that walking shoes have to be worn because it is very boggy along most of the embankments. The red route is well marked and easy to follow. There are also some other branches off the red route that can be explored.Birds such as robins and grey herons can be seen. There is a bad dog fouling problem over the first part of the walk.

No map to show what way to go . Paths in all directions, plus its very over grown in areas so i had to turn around.

Take care of yourself and wear good shoes. You go to nature. If you are lucky, you can take pictures, or just see wild ducks, dragonflies, I heard an owl. Repellent is a good thing, or at least a long sleeve.
