MAC Clinical Research Centre, Merseyside

I was made to feel very welcome. All the staff were really accomodating and I felt really at ease at every single visit.The only downside was the food in the freezer that I was allowed to have was limited to one complete meal only.It would have been nice if there had been a bit more exciting food other than a vergetable lasagne and a few other bits ( and a variety of herbal teas because I couldn't have caffeinated drinks) after fasting for quite a few hours, but... I managed to live with that.I was grateful for the dedication and friendliness of everyone I was involved with at MAC clinical research in Liverpool, and I hope to be able to come back as a volunteer here.

I was contacted on 11/02/2020 advising me there was a new study taking place for psoriasis.I was told on this telephone call to stop using my usual steroid creams as this was a requirement for this study.I attended my first appointment a week later and signed some paperwork. I was again advised not to use my steroid creams.Another appointment was then made for me which should be occurring tomorrow.I have been contacted today, less than 24 hours in advance of this appointment and been told I am no longer required.I had already booked the day off work for this appointment. Also, due to not being able to use my usual steroid creams my skin has gotten into a terrible state. I have been caused serious discomfort for over a month and let down by this company last minute.I was put under the impression that my place on the study was secured hence why I stopped using my prescribed medication.I was not paid for my time or attendance at this initial consultation so I am now out of pocket, wasted my time and my skin is going to take months to recover. I have also lost a days leave at work.Would not recommend anyone to sign up for research with this company!
