The Clothing Alteration Studio and Workshops

My daughter needed her bridesmaid dress greatly re-altered as it was not how she wanted it, or expected it to look when it was ordered online. Bert has been very thorough readjusting it to her design, even though it has been a bit of a long process, as getting her final specifications took some extracting. Bert was very patient with the dress fittings. Since this is can be a very intimate/close personal service, the female staff are on hand to assist if requested. We haven’t seen the final Dress adjustments yet as we collect it on Tuesday for the wedding on Thursday. I have every confidence in Bert and the rest of the team. Other customers are clearly happy with their work as they have so many regulars in and out of the shop dropping off and bringing in new items for repair and readjustment. Will definitely return again in the future when I need any more tailoring.

Wedding dress alterations where fantastic my dress is beautiful and I’m so happy with the work carried out can’t wait to wear it.However if your a larger wedding party all looking to get in on the action, it’s not the right place I’m afraid as it’s only a two person policy on fittings sadly***Edit ***On getting my wedding dress home and being able to try it on with my bridal party (which I was unable to in the store) the under net of my dress hasn’t been cut level and is all up and down (free hand cut) leaving it longer in places. Disappointed! Please check the under of your dress as I had mine shortened- will have to no fix. My under skirt has been stitched up / folded leaving a visible crease in the light and see through.Lightning is quiet poor in the shop and not natural light (shutters are closed on appointment) so it wasn’t until in natural light I saw the errors

Burt and the store are honestly a life saver. I was totally lost when my prom dress arrived and i simply could not get it on because it was too small, after calling lots of alteration stores and them refused to even look at the dress i came across this store by chance. From the moment i called they could not help enough fitting me in the same day with such short notice, i was impressed already. From the moment i stepped in the store i felt comfortable and made to feel very reassured that they would help me, how busy they were really goes to show their impeccable talents and customer service. There was a lovely friendly atmosphere the whole time i was in the store, never been to such a friendly,relaxed and above all helpful place. They could not help me enough which was wonderful. Not to mention the amazing work they are doing to my prom dress, and their compliments and lovely personalities really made me feel so much better and confident which is a wonderful attribute to my experience in working with the store to fix my dress. After i could not even get the dress on, i was totally lost on what i was going to do but Burt has redesigned basically the whole dress and i am so in love with it, he has made me feel so much more confident and really made the dress to perfectly suit and define my figure i am so much more excited for prom and to wear the dress he has created so wonderfully and recommend Burt and his store to everyone. All negative comments must have not even stepped foot in the door because i could not find a fault the whole time i was there. Not to mention that i was the last customer in there and they did not stop until i was fully happy with the alterations being made. Even though it was after closing time they remained open for me and their customer service and positivity did not lack one bit. I am so excited and looking forward to visit the store today and see the alterations they have made to my dress and trying it on. Recommend the store 100%.

My mom got her wedding dress & I my bridesmaid dress altered here. I highly recommend so much so that I will be hopefully returning in the new year with my own wedding dress. Great customer service, they all make you feel so welcome & comfortable. Great attention to detail. Nothing is too much trouble. See you very soon!

I had my wedding dress altered here a few weeks ago and Yvonne and Bert were so lovely and professional. The job they did was superb as my dress fits me perfect! I cannot wait to wear it on my wedding day in July! My maid of honour dress is booked in for alterations next week too.

Fantastic experience at The Clothing Alteration Studio. Had to have a 'quick fix' on my wedding dress and they were very accommodating, friendly and approachable. They did a wonderful job!! They even altered my bridesmaids dresses to a high quality standard. Would highly recommend!! THANK YOU!

Had my wedding dress altered at clothing alterations studio, staff were absolutely brilliant as was the service with every fitting.They altered the length of my dress, made the body fit beautifully and also designed a fabulous bussel for dancing on the evening.Would absolutely recommend for wedding dress alterations they are amazing.
