Really friendly club, where everyone is made to feel welcome. Classes available to suit everyone, would thoroughly recommend.

My daughter has made many good friends here and feels like its her big karate family. Instructors are superb and there are classes to suit all levels of karate. So many fun events planned throughout the year which are fun for all of the family to watch too. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this club to anyone wanting to be part of a great club.

I go to several of the Seiken Ryu classes depends where I can get, Mondays at Ebchester with Sensei Chris Carr, Tuesday at the Snods with Sensei Chris Carr, Wednesday at Wylam with Chief Instructor Peter Atkinson, Wednesday at Stamfordham with Sensei Steve Reed and Friday at Corbridge with Sensei Wayne Bond all are fantastic classes from beginner to Black belt, I go with my daughters as this is a real family thing to do, I’ve competed at club competition and also ‘War in the floor’ all fantastic fun and I don’t mind admitting I’m 58 years old so if I can do it anyone can!

I was a frumpy mum (no exercise since the children were born) and I was a bit fed up of watching my children having all the fun in their karate class. One day I heard myself ask the instructor if I could join in and three slightly embarrassing - but fun - weeks later, I was hooked. The instruction is tailored to the individual so we each know what we need to work on when we practise at home. Since starting 5 months ago, I feel stronger, more confident and I can even laugh at myself when I mess up because of the relaxed atmosphere in class. If you are a mum thinking of having a go but reluctant to take that first step, I can’t recommend it highly enough. It's fun, you’ll feel better and it will give you a shared interest with the children.

Best karate club I have seen around in the North East, its a very friendly enthusiastic club, both the students and the instructors are absolutely brilliant the hard work and dedication that is put into the club from both instructors and students is amazing.
