Planet Dog

I can only compare the wonderful experience myself and puppy Mitzi had with Georgina of Planet Dog, with that of a previous trainer who I now realise was utterly bonkers! I was encouraged to inhibit my then Beagle puppy from pulling on the lead by growling at him.Yes, I was frazzled and so did try it a couple of times. Both Bertie and my neighbours thought I had completely lost the plot and the pulling cheerfully persisted ad nauseam. There sure are some cowboys out there.Training ‘alongside’ (the operative word) Georgina, of Planet Dog, was an altogether different experience. She would only demonstrate things to give me a pointer and then hand it over to me to try. If it worked (it usually did) all well and good and I simply worked with my puppy (Jack Russell) Mitzi , in our own time, ‘little & often’ as usefully advised by Georgina.If something wasn’t working between Mitzi and I, rather than try and bludgeon it into her repertoire, she’d drop it and introduce a different approach. This meant that Mitzi and I never felt like we’d failed….the best and most effective way of positive reinforcement.Georgina is warm, patient, sensitive and has a very light touch. I cannot recommend her highly enough, either for an experienced or uncertain owner. Brilliant, I now have a puppy who (mostly!) does what I ask her because she wants to do well and to make me happy….which she most certainly does!

We've found Georgina very helpful with our new Bedlington Terrier Cross. She sends comprehensive notes after each session and has recommended items to purchase. Her training methods are clear and concise and we are confident in using these to progress training on our own. We would have no hesitation in recommending her.

Georgina is brilliant! We were struggling with a few aspects of Ned the Dog's behaviour (and annoying the neighbours!) and with Georgina's patient advice, clearly based in a deep understanding of dogs, we have seen big changes in just a few weeks. The all round care provided by Georgina is fantastic, incredibly helpful home visits, dietary advice, comprehensive notes of our sessions and clear, informative - and above all, useful - handouts. Our older dog was such an easy dog. We thought we were amazing owners. But when we got our new puppy we realised how much hard work they can be! We contacted Gergina after finding certain issues overwhelming. Georgina was great at pinning down exactly what our issues were and leading us through what we needed to do. She also introduced us to new concepts that really helped us make sense of our puppy's behaviours (such as the overflowing bucket!). The thing I found particularly useful was being able to talk to her for six weeks after the consultation, to go through what was going wrong/right. It was almost like having my own dog therapist on hand! Our puppy is still hard work but we have made some great progress with Georgina's help. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a professional dog trainer.

Georgina has been incredibly helpful with our new German Short Haired Pointer Callie. When Callie first arrived she was a lively burst of energy and we were struggling to cope. We called Georgina for help and we immediately started to feel more confident with Callie. Callie is now 6 months old and doing very well. We couldn’t have got this far without Georgina’s help and advice. We would highly recommend Georgina to anyone else.

I would highly recommend Planet Dog to anyone looking for a dog trainer with extensive knowledge and a positive, relaxed manner.I am a complete dog novice so knew I needed help from a professional when we got our Labradoodle puppy. Georgina was great and there was no subject she isn't knowledgeable on. Whilst Georgina had a plan for what Henry needed she was also extremely flexible in tailoring sessions to our priorities at the time. Henry loved the sessions with her and she was always supportive and positive towards me too. The follow up notes after each session are extremely helpful and thorough and great for looking back to refresh your memory, especially if you've covered a few topics in the session itself. I will definitely be recommending Georgina & Planet Dog to others.

I’m so pleased we found Georgina to come and work with our golden retriever puppy. She instantly had a rapport with him and has been friendly, knowledgeable and professional throughout.I’d read a few books before getting our puppy but having Georgina actually show me the process of learning commands and guiding me through has been invaluable and not something you can learn in a book!She has been a great support answering any questions I have each week and discussing scenarios we’ve experienced and how best to handle them.I would highly recommend Planet Dog to anyone and we plan on booking regular sessions as our dog gets older to help ensure a happy family and a happy dog!

It’s all been said before. Georgina has a great rapport with both dog and owners. She established immediate connection with our cavapoo Nell and with us. Georgina has been an invaluable part of my puppy's development. She is excellent when training him, as I expected she probably would be, but what really made the difference was how good she was at teaching me!I have never lived with a dog, and as a result consumed as many books, YouTube videos and forum threads as possible ahead of bringing home my golden retriever puppy. But there is simply too much information out there––much of it conflicting––and it is incredibly easy to end up feeling overwhelmed by it all, leaving you wondering what to believe and where to even start. Georgina's ability to break down training routines and behavioural concepts in simple terms was the answer for me. She so clearly has the best interests of the dog (and their guardian) at heart, and as a result I found it very easy to trust her.Having her on hand has made the process of raising my puppy infinitely more manageable and enjoyable. Can't recommend her enough!
