Martin has recently completed the structural design for a renovation project we are working on. He provided clear designs, and was quick to come to site and make a pragmatic recommendation when we uncovered new information on site.

Our structural engineer wasn’t able to run any calculations for service holes needed in the steel web. Provided the drawings and service access that we needed, and Martin had the necessary calcs turned around within 48 hours for us

Martin undertook a number of steelwork connection designs for a reasonably involved residential project where other engineers and fabricators had shown little interest. Work was quickly quoted for, and once awarded, was produced in a very timely manner. Clear drawings and 3D images accompanied the design calculations. Excellent communication throughout the process.

Martin at SMARTBUILD was approachable, answered my questions in a down to earth manner and he met the deadlines. He completed two separate jobs for me and advised me on a third. Whilst I am completely unqualified to comment on the technical side of his work, I am able from our conversations together, to recognise his merits. Previous building experience, combined with the intricacies of complex structural calculations such as the interlocking steel beams for my own project, have made him an all-rounder.I certainly appreciated the presentation of his diagrams supported by written notes, which assist a layperson in comprehending the mechanics and involvement of a job.Not to mention the expressed satisfaction of the surveyor.

After our builders struggled to handle one of the steel beams for our extension we needed a splice design quickly. Martin was fantastic, within an hour of contacting him we had our quote and received the designs the next day. Really great service and fair price, would use again.
