The top notch office staff are completely let down be substandard fitting. I am really disappointed with the way my carpet was fitted, loose and unsightly. The fitting on the stairs does not match step to step.The fitters didn't alter the doors, left the place in a mess with broken gripper on the window sills and scarpered at the earliest opportunity - Leaving instructions for us to cut of the loose threads at the edges! They came back and tried to make the carpet passable. True bargain basement service through and through.I chose Maltby's due to their reputation - on my experience it is not at all deserved. Friends and family have had a much better result with fitting elsewhere. If only I had listened and gone elsewhere.In short my experience with Maltby's can be characterised with one word: Regret.

When we decided to re-carpet our whole house, we visited several carpet shops to seek advice on selecting the best floor coverings. It was immediately obvious that Chris and the team at Malby’s had by far the best product knowledge in the area. The showroom in Brook street boasts an extensive selection of carpet samples and we were allowed to borrow whatever samples we wanted to try them out at home.When quoting, Chris produced a detailed breakdown of the measurements, cutting list and cost. We therefore knew exactly what we were getting and his price was significantly lower than other quotations we had obtained. Chris knew that quality was very important to us and allocated top quality fitters.The installation went brilliantly. Matt, Simon and Harry worked really hard for us and we are more than delighted with both the carpets and the luxury vinyl tiles.As the carpets we were replacing were still in good condition, we wanted to pass them on to one of our daughters. Chris was extremely helpful in measuring up to check they would fit and even arranged fitters to do the work. She too was delighted with the outcome.I can’t recommend Malby’s highly enough for their excellent quality, value and customer service.

I chose Maltbys as it was near to my work. They had only just opened after the coronorvirus when I asked them to measure up for my hall, stairs and landing. While Pat was there, I also asked for a quote for my living room and bedroom. I decided to have it all done and am very pleased with the results. Andy did an excellent job in fitting the carpets.

From initial advice in store, to home visit to measure (more advice!)..ordering and fitting we couldn't have asked for better service. Thanks to everyone, especially the fitters on site! A small kitchen now totally transformed!

Highly recommend Maltbys of Chester for carpet, flooring & fitting.I requested quotes from 5 local businesses for carpet, underlay & fitting over 2 floors and ply & luxury vinyl over one floor for our full house renovation.1 didn't bother to reply ;1 couldn't quote as they couldn't do the work in time ;1 was that unprofessional when I called I didn't follow up ;1 was very very costly for exactly the same products and work;Maltbys replied to the request for a quote super quick (and Chris Maltby had visited the site for full measure-up before others had even acknowledged my email).Maltbys quote was excellent on price and Chris even asked fitters from other areas to come and do the work as we were on such a tight timescale.Every fitter who attended did a great job. The two carpet fitters from Wrexham had great attention to detail and their work was excellent.Mike who fitted the luxury vinyl flooring was beyond excellent. Professional and the finish was amazing. We've used Maltbys on a number of occasions now. They differ from other carpet shops we've tried by being very client focused, and not looking for a quick sale and commission. Staff are very knowledgeable, prices are competitive, and they don't just do carpets and vinyls. They do beds, blinds and laminates, too.

Just window shopping at the moment but the staff was so helpful explaining the different types of laminate and wooden flooring. The pros and cons of each the prices and the quality. When the time comes certainly a place I would consider buying my new flooring from.
