Pedagogic, supportive and efficientRhiannon tutored my daughter during the last year of her GCSEs as a boost for revision and to strengthen her knowledge. We were so impressed with Rhiannon’s pedagogic and structured support that she also went on to tutor my son a few years later when he was in year 11. Rhiannon quickly identified the children’s strengths and weaknesses and tailored each session according to their needs. Rhiannon is a delight and has a true passion for maths and students alike which shines through in her enthusiastic and pedagogic approach to teaching. Both children found her very encouraging and easy to understand. As a parent, I could quickly see that Rhiannon was very efficient, conscientious and was always 200% prepared for each lesson with determination to help the children to reach their full potential. I got in touch with Rhiannon six months before my final maths GCSE. I was predicted a 7 and working at a 4, my confidence was depreciating with every maths lesson. I didn’t enjoy maths and I couldn’t grasp it no matter how hard I tried. When I started to work with Rhiannon my mathematical confidence shot up I started to really get the subject and enjoy it at the same time. Rhiannon pushed me so I could reach my full potential and believed in my ability the whole time, even when I did not. Our daughter has just passed her Maths GCSE retake and a massive amount of the credit for that has to go to Rhiannon. Our daughter has dyslexia, something that none of her school maths teachers seemed to take into account, as when she came away from her school maths lessons, she was never inspired. However, after her lessons with Rhiannon she was always so positive and motivated, often commenting 'why couldn't my school teacher explain maths to me that way?' We know our daughter had to pass the exams on her own but Rhiannon's skills as a teacher and motivator were the defining input she required to do so. Rhiannon noticed I needed additional help with my math’s GCSE during my second to final year at Tanbridge House School. I struggled to revise maths and practise maths at home so we came to an agreement that she would help me out at home for one hour a week as well as being my full-time teacher and alongside math’s intervention with her on a Monday after school. I felt Rhiannon truly dedicated all her energy into helping students learn mathematics, her enthusiasm and energy made the countless hours of learning feel less like a chore but a skill that will help me later in life. We were looking for a maths tutor for our son ahead of his GCSEs. I am so pleased that Rhiannon was recommended to us. Rhiannon tutored me Maths during year 11. I needed some stretching beyond school lessons and support before my Maths exams. She planned the sessions meticulously and was very focussed in helping me in the areas where I lacked confidence. Rhiannon is very friendly, professional and supportive. Her dedication and enthusiasm was what I needed to grasp some key concepts and to learn to believe in my ability. We went over past exam papers, something my school were a bit reluctant to do. My son has always struggled with maths and with his gcse fast approaching we decided the only way to get him the required pass mark was to get him a tutor. I can't recommend Rhiannon highly enough.
