Julie and Tharan are a dream to work with and learn from - both are highly professional and knowledgeable with a friendly and calm approach which made me feel comfortable being new to acting. Tharan has helped to build my confidence and skills in acting and what I have learned has positively impacted other areas of my life. I was very pleased with my Voice Acting Course. The other participant in the course could not make it so Tharan stepped in as well as running the class. I learned many new things and had the freedom to be creative at the same time. Also thanks to Julie for recording the voice reel with excellent recording equipment. I would recommend this course to aspiring voice actors and others who are just interested in how an animated production takes place from the perspective of the voice actor.

I've been visiting the studio for a few months and have completed a few different courses - and I can't recommend it enough! All lessons are completely personalised and both Tharan and Julie are incredible teachers that really make you feel comfortable. I can definitely see the improvements in both my singing and speaking voice and am looking forward to improving them further!

Joined this acting class at 40, thinking I might be too old, but Tharan has proved me wrong! He's supportive, made me feel comfortable and teaches in a really easy going, natural way. I've just completed the foundation course and can't wait to move on to the next stage. If you're thinking of joining an acting class, no matter your age, this class is the perfect place to dive in!

I've been taking the 121 singing lessons and it has been brilliant. Julie is an absolutely lovely person and a great teacher. The lessons are well structured, custom-fit and an absolute bargain for the price. I'm always looking forward to the next lesson! Big recommendation!

I have just completed my 4-week Theatre acting course with Tharan.It has been an absolute joy to attend this course each week. I'm 62 years old and have always wanted to act, so I thought I'd give it a try.Tharan is a very patient, caring and inclusive and wanted only the best for me. I learned so much during the past four weeks, and I feel able to use those skills with confidence.I recommend Southside Performance Studio and I would particularly recommend it to anyone in their later years, like me, who have never acted before and have always fancied acting. It's good for memory, confidence and brings joy and positivity. It has for me anyway. Well, it must be good, as I travel 2 and a half hours there and 2 and a half hours back to get there and I have a great day out in Glasgow.I am very grateful to Tharan for his kindness and help. He loves what he does.Next stop for me - Screen Acting. I'm looking forward to carrying on my acting journey with Southside Performance Studio. From the theatre acting course I managed to get a part as a member of the community choir, in An Edinburgh Christmas Carol, and had the most amazing time. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I went to an audition workshop as a beginner, it was great to work with people more experienced in the industry. Also Julie and Tharan were great as they showed me how all kinds of auditions work making me learn alot from them.

As someone who has come to this later in life, Southside performance studio has been perfect for meI have been doing acting and singing, and classes can be flexible so ideal if someone wants to do this while still working full time, and also the classes are very reasonable priced.I am really enjoying my time there and I feel like am part of something, recently have done the voice animation, thinking this was out of my comfort zone but it was an amazing day, and my confidence is growingTharan and Julie who run the studio are so nice and relaxed, and come with a wealth of experienceIf your looking to for an acting class this is definitely the place to be.

Southside Performance Studio classes have been one of the highlights of my year! I have thoroughly enjoyed their 'RP/ Standard English' accent course, 'Screen Acting' course, 'Theatre Production' course and looking forward to their 'Short Film Production' course. Tharan is an excellent acting coach with a wealth of knowledge and experience. He is also very supportive, answers and explains everything so clearly and is really good at making concepts relatable to aid my understanding. I can't thank him enough for teaching me to how to open up and exercise part of my voice I've never used before which really helps with stage acting performances and also projecting my voice in everyday life. Tharan and Julie have filmed and edited clips for my showreel and provided me with advice and a good grounding for pursuing any adventures in acting. Tharan and Julie are extremely professional, friendly, accommodating and are purely focused on helping you improve. It is clear that they both love what they do and provide a relaxed, comfortable learning environment for their clients to also enjoy the arts as much as they do. Tharan and Julie are fantastic and very professional. I have seen them for a few sessions for help with public speaking and the change in me has been enormous.
