Knowledgeable luthier (violin repairer), very friendly and helpful, had a wealth of experience and had lots of good quality orchestral stringed instruments for sale which can be tried out before purchase. Photos of complicated work he is carrying out on a 1640 labelled violin.

Excellent experience. Made an appointment to try out and purchase a new violin bow - Mr. Batchelar provided several in my requested price range and left me to try them out on my own violin until I’d selected a suitable one, having stressed that there was no obligation to buy. Very happy with the bow I purchased - would definitely come here again.

Extremely knowledgeable, helpful and honest. Went to get a violin bow repaired and he was very honest that it wasn't worth it, with evidence, and helped my daughter choose a new bow at a very reasonable price. Thank you very much.
