Whilst on a road trip collecting funny place names, we couldn’t pass up the chance to claim “Nob End”!Not the easiest of places to get to when you’re not local. We ended up trying several odd parking spots on nearby streets before settling on a spot to the north of the park. No official car park seemed to be signposted anywhere in sight?!The paths/tracks around site were fairly level and unobstructed, though spots were really overgrown with weeds - this may be due to the area being a SSSI, which would place restrictions on groundskeepers.Other than the humorous name, another draw for this park (though we were unaware beforehand) is the inclusion of giant Meccano structures, including picnic benches and a whole footbridge! These are painted in classic Meccano red and green.

What a great day of walking . Exploring the canal . From Farnsworth train station to the country park at mosses gate along the canal at Nob end canal basin along the old canal which is in the process of being cleaned by the canal trust .. Then out by Kersealy train station . Beautiful walk on a warm sunny day. Good long walk.

Nob End
Spent many years down the canal back in the late 70,s and through the 80,s growing up playing down there. Such a wonderful place to chill out look at all the animals, see if you can spot a deer that are now roaming around, saw 4 of them the other day, great place to take your dog out for his or her walk's. Let's get the canal up and running again

Lovely area for a walk. We were drawn to visit as they filmed a scene from the movie 'Spring and Port Wine' here
