The Bird In Hand
Very disappointed by somewhere that I have frequently visited for food before. I ordered steak cooked medium and it was so well done and dry that it was hard to eat. My partner ordered the chefs special which was again so over cooked he could not eat it. When mentioning this to our server we got a response that another customer had had it and found it wonderful. Only redemption that they deducted 2 deserts from our bill. Entire experience was disappointing from start to finish. Won’t be back here again

Friendly staff and tasty, well presented, well cooked, good quality food.I had venison bourguignon and my partner had seafood linguine. Both were very nice and we both said it was one of the best pub meals we'd had.

The Bird In Hand
I stayed at The Bird In Hand for a friend's wedding that was nearby. The room was great - so much space! We ate dinner and breakfast and both were excellent: big portions beautifully cooked (it's worth travelling to for the big, crunchy-yet-fluffy chips alone). Everyone at the pub was really friendly and helpful too: marvellous all round :)

A lovely looking place. Large comfortable rooms and seating. We didn't eat so the pluses stop there. Indifferent obsequious barman. Their vaunted real ale is poor and insipid. Will not be calling again when passing

I've stayed at 'The Bird's a couple of times when visiting the Lotus factory. The staff are soo friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. This even applies when half the factory decend on the pub, some want feeding and at half term. All this with only a couple of staff (because it should be a quiet Tuesday evening), but despite that still friendly, accommodating and always serving great food. The rooms are very spacious, quiet and comfortable as well.

Lovely pub/restaurant with a nice atmosphere. Lots to choose from on menu but we all opted for the steak and ale pie which was generous with lovely veg.Waitresses were very friendly and helpful. Food was served promptly and well cooked.We have not eaten here for around 20 years but not sure why not! Will be visiting again very soon.

Visited late on a Sunday evening and was made very welcome although I diddent eat the food looked and smelt delicious!! I did however enjoy a few premium larger at the bar very enjoyable

The Bird In Hand
Called into the bird in hand for food on a business trip. I didn't stay in the rooms. What I can say the, the food was delicious, I had the slow cooked baby back ribs,I can absolutely highly recommended them. The portion size was massive! Came with chunky chips, coleslaw and salad. Loved it, also had dessert, a good portion of toffee cheesecake. Loved the food.
