Hairy Hounds in Hackney

Our 2 year old female GSD had shown increased aggression and reactivity towards dogs after each heat. She used to be able to play (relatively) softly with dogs but now we can't let her near other dogs altogether for fear of a fight. She has always been nervous around children and strangers, and regularly barked & snapped at people approaching us in public spaces.After getting her spayed we saw some positive changes in her demeanour, but needed intensive training to help unlearn all the bad habits she accumulated.After searching around speaking to lots of trainers, I had a lengthy phone conversation with Edita, and could instantly tell she had heaps of experience, a focus on positive training, and most importantly was open to a dialogue about our dog's behaviours.After an assessment, Edita let us know that the majority of our dog's behavioural issues weren't complete reactivity" or fear

Hairy Hounds is absolutely fantastic. Our energetic mini-schnauzer Charlie has been going to daycare 3 days a weeks since she was 4 months old. With Edita and her team's help Charlie has matured from a very boisterous puppy to a beautifully mannered little dog that we can take everywhere with us. Charlie adores going to daycare and cannot get to the door fast enough when she is picked up. It is also so reassuring to be able to leave her for holidays knowing she is having a great time with her doggy and human friends. We are so grateful to Hairy Hounds for enabling us to have a dog whilst working full time and cannot recommend it enough.

Edita recently took our little beagle puppy for residential training for four weeks. Before, she was pulling on the lead, was very reactive around other dogs and was unable to be left alone without howling and barking. The transformation after just four weeks was incredible: like a whole new dog! She now walks nicely, doesn’t pull across the road to greet other dogs and is completely fine being home alone. Edita provided us with regular updates and training videos to help us in the transaction back to her being at home, and we went for several walks while she was in boarding to observe how Edita trained her too. I cannot recommend HHH highly enough! Our dog regularly attends HHH daycare and also Edita's home boarding when we are away (which is only available to HHH daycare members).The daycare is run by Edita and her team of dedicated, trained staff who work to understand the needs and personalities of each dog. The dogs are well stimulated and socialised and are taught basic obedience / manners (no barking / quiet time, waiting), which ensures that the space is safe for all dogs and well controlled.Edita and her team have truly created a dog haven. It is our dog's favourite place!

Edita and her team have changed my pup from whirling dervish to a calm and spirited wonderdog! When my little toy Poodle joined HHH he was happy and energetic, but boundaryless and seemed to NEVER run out of the desire to play, jump around and run up to every dog in sight! Cut to a few months later and he's like a new pup. He's regulated and calm - sure he still gets the zoomies and his cheeky personality is still evident; but he's discerning about who he plays with and much more able to occupy himself and have fun alone. He knows when he's tired and when he needs a walk. I was always worried that 'training' would train his personality away, but instead it's made way for his character to shine unfettered by hyper-alertness and over exertion. HHH is a fantastic daycare and I've learned so much about my dog as a result. Edita and the team offer structure as a way to get your dog to its most happy self and will forever be grateful for helping them to grow my bond with him and see him close-up as the wonderful little chap he is. Edita is a highly experienced, passionate and dedicated dog trainer. We highly recommend Edita to help with anything from basic dog (and owner - as it's as much about training the owners as well as the dog!) training to complex behavioural issues. Edita has also helped us prepare for the arrival of our son, drawing on her own experience as a parent herself.As first time dog owners, Edita helped us understand the fundamentals of dog obedience and behaviour. Our dog unexpectedly became extremely reactive following neutering and again Edita's experience was invaluable. Edita diagnosed his triggers, helped us improve our communication with our dog, and proactively set up changes in the home to minimise his reactivity.We feel very fortunate to have found Edita and would highly recommend her!

Not just any doggy day care .. HAIRY HOUNDS OF HACKNEY is the absolute bomb!! Dog paradise I would say! Our very lively Boston Terrier has been lucky enough to have been with Hairy Hounds since she was a puppy .. Truly couldn't have managed our spirited dog with out the services of the Edita and her great team. So Edita is the owner but she also has another name 'The Dog Whisperer .. well thats what all of us owners call her. Honestly you could have 30 dogs in a room and you would be able to hear a pin drop .. no lie! The dogs in her care are stimulated through play and walks and learn great behaviour skills as well as down time .. snuggling up round the wood burning stove .. What more can I say .

My cockapoo puppy Pigeon has been trained by Edita and been part of the HHH family since she was 14 weeks old. This was so I had a full socialised and trained puppy that slotted into my busy work life and routine. Edita has gone above and beyond and I wouldn’t have trusted anyone else. I’ve learnt so much along the way (even though I do have previous dog experience) and Pigeon has benefited from it so much too. She loves being part of the pack. Edita sends daily updates and we’ve done training in the park too. What truly amazed me is to have a puppy that can be walked off the lead when there are no distractions. I can’t recommend Edita and HHH more highly!!

Edita has been fantastic with our miniature schnauzer Chewie. He has been in the daycare since he was five months old and has been so well taken care of by Edita and her team. He's quite an anxious pup and was developing some reactive behaviour, so we reached out to Edita for a training session to help. She gave us an incredibly informative session, and really took the time to talk us through steps to help with some of his issues. Edita is so knowledgeable and we're so grateful for the time she took with him.
