We found a stray cat down the river on Sunday that was very poorly and suffering, i rang multiple vets and acorns was the only one who said bring the cat in straight away. The team were fantastic, caring and considerate. I could not recommend this vet enough. Thank you for your compassion

Acorn vets Sarah and the whole team are absolutely amazing ! They are extremely helpful and given me amazing support thru my journey in getting my 5 ferrets passports completed for travel abroad. They are always there to answer any questions I need answers too and guide me about all the steps thru out. My girls absolutely love Sarah and the team and believe when I say they are very picky as to who they like and don’t like ( and they don’t like many people) thank you so much for being such a great team and ever so helpful. There is not many vets who do specialize in exotic animals (ferrets) and I don’t easily trust vets with my babies, but they achieved that but simply directing me to Sarah who is a specialist in small animals and pets travel and to whom I gain trust with my girls. Truly amazing team. A huge thank you from me, Mia, Bella, Lilly, Munchkin and Angel.

Lucky to find this wonderful Veterinarian HospitalVisiting family in Bedford we became worried about our Buster who definitely wasn't himself. I called another local vet who turned us down so I called Acorn House and although they were booked to capacity they fitted him in for a consultation - never refusing to turn a poorly animal away. It turned out Buster had PLE and his protein levels were seriously low so he stayed overnight with nurses in attendance and an on-call vet so although we were more than anxious we slept a little more soundly than we would otherwise. The reception staff are amazing - Vanessa and Dawn were the ones we saw most often and they loved Buster as much as he loved them! He's never been so keen to visit the vets before! Sarah, Katherine, Kim and Frances were the vets who treated Buster and took time to explain his condition and treatment to us. They were 100% committed to his recovery and he has flourished since his diagnosis and treatment and is almost a new dog and has a soft and shiny coat for the first time in his life - which is not bad for a wire-haired terrier cross! Thanks should also go to the office staff ( Karen ) who helped make our insurance claim so much easier than I thought it could possibly be. A big thank you to all ladies on car-park duty too who were just as caring and interested in Buster's condition and care as the rest of the staff and a big thank you too to all the staff we didn't see but who make this hospital what it is. We actually look forward to seeing you all again!

I would like to express my thanks to vet Ola who did everything she possibly could to help my cat Rupert over the last week or so. Sadly Rupert had to be put to sleep as he was so poorly and it was the kindest thing. Ola was wonderful and very compassionate, even she was in tears, bless her. Rupert was a rescue cat who we adopted from the vets some years ago. He was very affectionate and we were glad to offer him a loving home. RIP Rupert you will never be forgotten. Thank you Ola for all your help.

We sadly had to say 'good bye' to our 18 year old Frankie last month. We have always used Acorn throughout his whole lifetime. He had many visits to the hospital, either through accidents or as an impatient for numerous illnesses. Our grateful thanks to Rosie and all her colleagues for the excellent care and dedication they showed to us.

I had booked an appointment for 10.45am and unfortunately due to traffic and several incompetent drivers I arrived 2 minutes late at 10.48am. As the lone receptionist was in the process of dealing with another customer I stood away from the the desk out of politeness. After 8 minutes the customer had finished so I explained that I had an appointment at 10.45am and sat down to wait. The receptionist then came over and told me that as I had arrived so late that the appointment was no longer available. I explained that I was only 2 minutes late and as I could not say that I had arrived due to them not being available at the time I was not at fault. Suddenly 5 minutes later a vet was available and I able to proceed. On exiting the surgery I was approached by the receptionist who presented me with a small bag of dog treats by way of an apology. I have been attending Acorn house for many years having owned several dogs and always recieved excellent service. Sadly apparently this is now not the case as I found them to be somewhat apathetic generally with poor customer service.I cannot recommend Acorn house as I used to do. I will be looking at the reviews of other veterinarians in the area in hope of registering with them and receiving the outstanding service that I have been used to.

After my cat going missing two weeks ago, I got a call from Acorn Vets after she had been handed in. Unfortunately, she was hit by a car and not in a good way. Harriet and the team talked me through all the options and were so patient with me. Thank you for making her comfortable and allowing me to have a final moment of goodbyes with her x

Our cat almost died after attack from one of the neighbors. Acorn vets while young were very helpful and saved our cat's life with emergency weekend surgery. We can only recommend so far!

DISINTERESTED AND UNHELPFULI came to Acorn House Bedford with a rescued dog I am fostering. He was suffering from gastrointestinal problems and an intense wet caugh.I came twice, bought medicines there, but he was just getting worse. Both of (rather young) vets seemed reluctant in expressing their opinions, and scared to hold the dog while measuring his temperature. I had a feeling that this might not be the nicest place for a young vet to work.Later, when I called the clinic and reported that the animal is in a grave state, I was almost persuaded into buying more drugs similar to those that didn't help. The receptionist (!) was the first one who cleverly suggested lab analysis of the dog's stool. Finally, after I mentioned the possibility of migrating parasites as the cause of all these symptoms, they proposed X-ray - for which they charge £450, forgetting to mention the laboratory analysis.I kindly ask them to pay in instalments, while explaining that this animal was getting worst and worst under their care.Sadly, the Acorn House Manager refused to help.Luckily - and as I expected as an EU citizen - the price of 2 X-ray scans, just across the Channel, in France, is €65, and this lovely dog will hopefully get well.
