The Auld Hundred
Luckily to find this bar in Edinburgh. Their whisky sauce is amazing, I tried haggis there. And the award wining cold town beer ( local Brewery) and of course the whisky taste plate. Don’t miss it. The live music and their service is impressive. Remember to book a seat. It’s very popular. I visited 2 times during my 4 days trip but definitely will return.

Sounds of live music brought us in.We heard 2 young men (the greasy whiskers) playing a banjo and a guitar playing various folk songs and they were good, the guys finished up before the rugby came on.The lower bar area is quite small but they have lots of tables outside if the weather is right, also serve food upstairs on first floor. The bar is quite small but staff coped well given that the place was extremely busy.All in all we enjoyed the atmosphere and the beer and white wine, prices reasonable too.

Absolutely brilliant. The drunk man cussing me out as we were trying to enter did not deter, as shocking as it was. Thank goodness! The service was impeccable. The atmosphere so cool. The food was perfection! I tried haggis and was so shocked and surprised to find it absolutely delicious!!!! Son couldn’t try it due to his allergies and husband wouldn’t so I got it all to myself! lol I can’t even recall what I had as a main!! If I hadn’t gotten ill this trip, we would have gone back. And they had my absolute favorite Scottish cider, Thistly Cross!! I had imagined having one with every meal but have not found it to be sold many of the places we’ve gone. We would 1000% recommend anyone seek out The Auld Hundred when visiting the city. We promise you won’t be sorry.

Since I was in Edinburgh, I wanted to try some authentic Scottish cuisine. Unfortunately, I found the Haggis main meal fairly bland, but that's more to do with my taste buds than the fault of the cooking (the cooking was fine).What I really liked was the service, atmosphere and the drinks. It was very warm and welcoming and the recommended cocktail was an excellent choice as I really enjoyed it. Plus I got a free beanie out if it!

Yeah this is a great stop in for a meal. The fish and chips is excellent. They have do a nice soup of the day and a fine Scottish rarebit. Great atmosphere and good food. Well worth the visit.

What a great place. I had my first Haggis here. Really good!And the pub is supposed to be the auldest in Rose street.
