Typical town centre pub with beer garden. Very good real ale, which is great value during happy hour(s)! Toilets could do with a refresh (and soap), but have experienced much worse. Staff were friendly, as were other folks in there with us.

Town centre pub with conservatory and beer garden to the rear. Friendly barman who knew Flat Eric. Three real ales. Two from Mauldon and one from Listers. I had the Mauldon Mole Trap. A good session bitter at 3.8%.

Hidden Gem great staff and food. Don't judge a book by its cover. I had a great sausage and mash lunch and a cappuccino as good as any chain coffee shop. And the staff are friendly and knowledgeable on vegetarian issues. Throughly recommended. When I'm next in the area I'll be visiting again.

Was spending a few nights at Ely whilst visiting Lakenheath and mildenhall. Must say this was a great pub and will definitely be visiting here again on my next trip to the area. Brilliant drink choice, nice music and atmosphere and friendly staff.

Well since changing ownership I can only say from personal experience that this pub has sadly gone massively downhill. They unfortunately do not care about the safety of their customers, they employ shady, very weird (pervy) members of door staff, after being addressed with several incidents that happened in the venue the people who dealt with the situation did it absolutely appallingly, mocking a terrible situation and being incredibly rude. I wouldn’t recommend coming to them if anything unfortunately happens to you in the venue (it probably will as it’s very rough) because you’ll just get a rude response from the owner who can’t seem to grasp empathy or any inch of customer service! Highly recommend the Isle of Ely, staff and management are absolutely lovely. :)

Me and two colleagues went into the townhouse last night for drinks after a busy day/night at work. We brought 2 pints each and some shots totalling to £47. After making the purchase we went to the toilet on return a girl behind the bar was pouring them into the sink. I explained that they were our drinks, her reaction was to start shouting and swearing at me. Then just took the other drinks and poured them all away. I have never been treated in such a rude and disgusting way. If I could give it 0 stars I would. Will not be stepping into that place again.

Nice comfortable pub. Nice welcome from staff. Yet not enough room to have music events . Too crowded. Can be a health issue to a customer.

I went with a group over the weekend. . The music was good but the customer service was the worst I have ever experienced! To be charged over £40 for 6 pints to have them thrown away because you leave them on the bar for 2 minutes whilst you’re dancing (right next to the bar I might add). I approached the bar member who I believe was called Holly, to be met with a barrage of abuse/ if I had been spoken to in a polite manner I would have accepted it. Although I would have been annoyed - but the fact I was sworn and shouted at is completely unacceptable! I just think that if someone is spending money to pay wages - they at least deserve a bit of respect! I used to love coming here but this has honestly put me off. An apology would have been enough but to pay £40 for a mouthful of abuse is completely unacceptable!

Lovely dog friendly pub - our dogs were given a very warm welcome - including a plate of treats. Relaxed atmosphere
