My Key Locksmiths Dorking

Do not use this service! We had to call out an emergency locksmith after we were locked out of our property. On the phone the call handler stated that it would cost £59 + VAT to have the lock fixed, which I believed to be reasonable. The locksmith arrived and started to hammer the lock out of place (seemed to have no clue what they were doing), which has caused significant damage to our door. The locksmith then said that it was going to cost us £340 due to the type of lock, this was not discussed with me prior and I wouldn’t have agreed to the service if I had known this. The person was very unprofessional and left all their screws outside the house on the floor, they were not trained for this trade at all. The “locksmith” then asked for the money to be paid to their bank account and then advised me that they would be back to fix the door the next day as they didn’t have the correct tools to fit the new lock in place, this person to this date is no where to be seen.This company will be reported to trading standards.Another thing to be aware of is they say they are based in Dorking, however, there office is virtual. Very very poor service who target people in their time of need.

Total rip off. Quoted £49 on the phone, but charged £178 on site as he had to spend about a minute drilling the lock. Total time on site, mainly talking, was less than 5 minutes.

Do not use these charlatans - they charged almost 6 times what they quoted and exploited vulnerable people. They are not based in Dorking, have a call handler in Barnet and a false address in Dorking High Street.
