Alive & Singing Choir and Singing Lessons

Always a great experience. Wonderful song arrangements with supporting materials supplied by our hard working creative choir director. Joining this choir is one of the most uplifting things I’ve done.

As a newly arrived resident of Milton Keynes this choir as the first thing I joined. Unfortunately Covid prevented us from meeting in person for many months but Barbara did an outstanding job of keeping us all going with zoom choir practice. it certainly helped my sanity during the lockdown. It is wonderful to be back singing together again and enjoying all the great arrangements she does for us. An amazingly talented lady who leads a very friendly and fun choir. Long my she continue.

I have been part of this choir for several years and thoroughly enjoy my time each week. Wonderful arrangements of songs and all choir members have the opportunity to vote for this choice of songs each year.

It has been so good to get together with the Milton Keynes Alive and Singing group this term at Woolstone, after months of singing on Zoom. We always feel safe because we wear masks at all times, when not actually singing. Our temperatures are taken when we enter the Hall. We are also advised to take Lateral Flow test at home to check we are Covid-free before joining the others. As always, Barbara arranges some fantastic songs and teaches us so well. She makes learning them great fun and there is always a feeling of achievement when we all sing together and hear the songs recorded.

Alive and Singing is a really welcoming wonderful choir to be part of. Barbara makes everyone feel very welcome and she goes out of her way to ensure we have all the material we need, in various formats, before rehearsal. She is an extremely talented musician and choir director. I joined the choir during lockdown on zoom and I quickly felt part of the community. Our rehearsals are now face to face and Barbara has gone out of her way toe ensure we all feel safe. We sing really lovely songs and have a say on what we would like to learn. Each week I look forward to it and after two hours at choir you leave feeling uplifted with a smile on your face- just what we need!

Alive and Singing is a fabulous choir. The musical director is talented and encouraging and singing with her and fellow choir members has provided some of the most joyous experiences of my life.

I've been as member of this choir for over 5 years now and it really does feel like a family. Barbara is such a talented musician and is able to tailor her arrangements perfectly for the choir members she has. Definitely one of the best choirs around in MK.
