A really excellent place, is Wright's Tools. The staff are very friendly, and don't mind taking their time to help you find what you need. That's massively appreciated by me, as a self-taught novice DIY-er. There's a lot of tradesmen shop here, which is a good sign in my opinion. And they've often done me a good deal. Highly recommended.
