Friendly, welcoming Hotel. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Worth paying for a room with sea view as this is stunning. This hotel has a small gym and indoor swimming pool. The grounds present the guest with a lush grass terrace with seating area and sun lounges.Parking limited and direct access down to the beach is via some steep steps.

This review is NOT based on a residential stay, but rather on use of the bar and it's gardens overlooking stunning Swanage bay & the small but excellent & well equipped gym with its small swimming pool & sauna for which a week long pass was very reasonably priced. All fabulous !(The very steep steel staircase up from the gardens to the bar may not be suitable for everyone but the very helpy staff are happy to serve in gardens if you order inside the hotel & reach the gardens via the side entrance).Gardens are also dog friendly .

We stayed here for one night. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was very quiet so they put us in the “best” room. It did have a lovely sea view and a little balcony. The room was clean and spacious. There was music playing downstairs in the morning which was quite loud, waking us both up. Over all the hotel was a bit dated. We were looking forward to using the spa/leisure facilities however they were also dated and in need of a face lift. There seemed to be a lot of members using these facilities so we felt un-welcome. Breakfast was okay, the bread was stale but the waiter was happy to swap it for fresh. The breakfast was at an extra cost. Compared to other hotels maybe not as good value for money. Unfortunately there is not much to choose from in this area. Upon checkout the man on reception was very friendly, we had a lovely chat and he had great customer service. Sorry to say we wouldn’t stay here again.

I asked for an upgrade to a sea view because of my limited budget as a teacher, and they kindly gave me a room with a view at no extra cost. What a kind gesture from the manager. Such a beautiful hotel and decor with a great sauna, jacuzzi, gym and pool. Total awesome room.

Well this is truly a GRAND hotel. It has been updated to a very high standard. Stunning tropical rain shower, wonderful crisp linen & great tea & coffee tray. We had an evening meal in the veranda restaurant the quality of food & service were 1st class. Breakfast was in a very modern & bright dining room, again 1st class food & attentive staff. Did not use the Spa, pool or exercise equipment, the area was very clean. Our only problem was at Breakfast on both days was that the kitchen could not supply a soft poached egg, they offered on both days to try again but the had a delicious fry up instead. If you want too stay somewhere GRAND you won't do better for your money than here.We stayed in room 203

We went for tea on a very wet afternoon. The tea was delicious and service friendly. We had to ask for a second pot of tea, but it was no problem. We felt quite privileged to have the view of the beautiful bay to ourselves with the rain lashing the windows. It's a great thing to do on a wet afternoon. The only downside was because of the weather, a few small children running around, but this we could ignore in the circumstances.

What a smashing place. Wonderful gardens and view of the bay.Spent an idyllic couple of hours here with the family for a sunny afternoon cheeky drink, which was delicious and good value. The hotel interior was beautiful, they offered high tea in the orangery with bubbles, overlooking the fantastic views of the ocean. Its a must of a visit if you are in Swanage.

Perfect location, wonderful views. A very welcoming and helpful staff. Spotlessly clean rooms. Super food at both dinner and breakfast. TIP: Book direct with the hotel as it is cheaper.

The perfect venue for a seaside wedding. Nestled on a clifftop on the Purbeck coastline this is the perfect place to enjoy an English seaside wedding. The team are super helpful too. The beach is just a 5 min walk down some stairs, perfect for those portraits.
