The Cowshed Boutique Bunkhouse

Very nice hostel. Kind service personnel, a lot of space, perfect equipped and spacious kitchen, quite new bathroom facilities, clean and nice. Plus it has a really cozy common area, with comfy sofas and a selection of board games. This brings people together and makes it easy to socialize. There are even some basics to buy at the reception, like beverages and food. Free parking is also available. All over an outstanding place you will be sad to leave. As I did.

Phenomenal place to stay! My husband and I stayed at the Cowshed during our two week trip to Scotland in July 2023. The location of the Cowshed makes it easy to take daytrips to other parts of the Isle of Skye, if you have a car. We stayed in a 6-person dorm room and were very impressed! The bunks are very comfortable with a shelf, light, outlet and privacy curtain. The room also had lockers with programmable locks. The bathrooms were FANTASTIC... I think the floors may even have been heated. The shared kitchen/living space is well-organized and beautifully decorated. The view is absolutely incredible, and there are comfortable couches from which you can watch the sunset through the huge windows. The staff, including the Duke the Cat and Thai the Dog are all very friendly and helpful. There is outdoor space which can be used as well, including firepits! We would love to stay at The Cowshed again and would recommend it to anyone travelling to the Isle of Skye.

The best hostel I have stayed at with a stunning view. A big shout out to the staff there who do everything to keep the place clean and comfortable.

Great location and I must say a very unique experience. We booked the en-suite pod which was unique but the toilet cum bathroom is so tiny that it was a challenge showering in there. Luckily, the staff seems to be aware of this and upon checking in, the staff highly recommended we visit the shower rooms in the main building which was huge! Though it was a hassle moving in the cold between our pod and the main building, it was a special experience for us. The staff could have more patience with our queries as she actually showed me impatient face.

The CowShed was one of the stays we were looking forward to the most, and it didn't disappoint. We were somewhat concerned that the pod may be a bit tight for 3 adults, but it actually worked really well for us. It may not be located centrally on Skye, but the Uig area has plenty to offer, and really enjoyed the restaurants in town. The views of the coastline were great, and the common area for cooking was huge and well stocked even though we didn't take advantage of it.

This was the nicest hostel I've ever stayed in. I was comfortable hanging out everyday in the commons area. They have a washer and dryer for an added fee. The bunks are very comfortable with a plug, shelf and a light inside the bunk, and a heavy thick curtain for privacy. The bathrooms are huge with lots of space for your stuff. The only drawback is drying your hair. The only outlet with a mirror is in the hallway.

Great place to stay. They have bunkhouse for personal use and a hostel room. The hostel room (8 bunkbeds) is part of the main building so there is easy access to the bathrooms (have showers in them too) and kitchen.The bathrooms are spacious and clean. The kitchen was amazing, it was spacious (2 four burner stoves, 2 very tidy fridges, and enough space to share with others while cooking)The common area and seating was also clean and comfortable. I would return and recommend it.There is wifi but the signal drops in the sleeping quarters.

Amazing experience , the place is in the middle of sky, so you can reach every place driving. The little houses are perfect for a couple with everything you need . Price reasonable. Highly recommended

Fantastic boutique hostel - really nice facilities and a very comfortable common room with plenty of large tables and sofas to chill-out on. Free tea and coffee, board games and amazing showers! Rooms were classic basic hostel style bunks, but were comfortable and quiet. Would recommend.
