Lower Lacon Caravan Park

We looked at the campsite before arriving and it looked nice with plenty for the children to do, it stated that there was entertainment and a cider festival on the weekend we were attending and plenty of animals for the children to see as well as children's entertainment, a swimming pool and a park.However, when we arrived we were confronted by what I can only describe as a very rude man who blocked us off from getting to our pitch because we hadn't paid for our parking for our van for the weekend, after a 2 hour drive with 3 children this was not what we expected and could have been informed nicely that he doesn't 'believe' we had paid and could have asked us nicely to go to reception. I found his reaction extremely over the top and unnecessary and one of the men even told a child on the site that we hadn't paid which is disgusting to do as we had and it was their mistake. My mother in law had already paid for the van in the morning of the day we arrived and they had not documented this so had charged us again and then told us we would get a refund for this when they realised but still did not apologise for their mistake. Also when my partner went into the reception one of the men said very rudely you were this close" I'm assuming he meant we were close to being kicked off all because they wanted £10.50 for parking. There was no cider festival advertised or told to us when we arrived so this didn't happen and there were alpacas and goats

Visited my daughter and son in law as they were touring there, I love the fact there's a family club and also an adults pub on site , people seemed friendly and the wardens helpful too and the site caters for your four legged family with a nice dog field . Site only let down by a majority of seasonal (dirty caravans,awnings and pitches ) else the site would be a very pleasant place to be .

Currently staying here at the moment. If you read the reviews on trip advisor or anywhere else for that matter then PLEASE PLEASE IGNORE WHAT ALL THE KAREN'S SAY!!! Lower Lacon is absolutely lovely. Clean, tidy and lots to do. Toilets are clean, showers are clean, the wardensDO NOT patrol the site all day watching watching what you are doing. They do pop round now and again to make sure all is well. The traffic on the road is not noisy. Its a B Road in Shropshire for goodness sake! There is hardly any traffic, and certainly not any through the night.People are friendly and very helpful. Including the owners who have caravans permantley on site. We had a walk round the whole site and spoke to some lovely people Staff are friendly, and helpful.The pool is great if a little cool maybe, but the tiles are not all broken and unsafe! It is well maintained and supervised. We have been to many places and we can be quite pick about cleanliness, but i can assure you it is not as others have described. We are having a lovely time here and will definitely be back. WOULD RECOMMEND!!

Whilst the site is ok, there are some campers who always spoil it. We were in the purple family field, there was a continuous smell of weed being smoked whilst i understand some people like this type of illegal past time but in a family enclosure, really. Also, somebody thought it highly amusing to throw things at campervans late at night. No security to police this. Sorry but won't be coming back again, not unless they police the illegal and anti social behaviour better.

Shower and toilet area in dire need of a refurbishment.Grounds unkempt, not maintained nor was the outdoor pool area. Lots of litter and broken tiles etc.Childrens play area had red builders sand, truly awful!!Would not recommend if you prefer a smaller family run campsite.

This place is so beautiful and peaceful a lovely place for family staff r friendly and helpful. The showers are very clean, washing facilities for clothes, fast food, two bars. What more do you need? Outside pool

Absalulty amazing place. Facilities are well looked after and clean, staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. We have the best time here. Parks are well maintained and my kids love it.The pools fabulous,The onsite shop has everything you need
