I called at 9:30 for a persistent earache, I had to wait on hold but no longer than 20 minutes. After speaking with a lady on the phone they offered me an appointment on the same day at 11. At the reception a kind lady checked me in an I was told to wait in the waiting room.20 minutes later I got out with a prescription for antibiotics. The doctor took her time to check my problem and consider possible future treatments if the pain persists. Everyone was so nice and kind, I had a truly positive experience.

Worst surgery in Aberdeen. They have handed me another patients medical records which I took home and opened - this was when i realised they were not my fathers! They have on several occasions lost" my fathers blood and urine samples and results stating that there is a man "down south" who has the same name and date of birth as my father (yeah

shoutout to the receptionist team, dr wong, and dr kumar who all refused me an appointment and treatment. my referral was failed to be put forward 3 years ago, but dr kumar hasn’t been there so of Course it’s not his problem (massive eye roll). despite this he still refused to even provide me with a basic health check up to see if i had any of those blood clots or strokes or heart attacks he had just shouted at me about. at least i got to speak to him, despite knowing my condition dr wong wouldn’t even agree to have an appointment with me! let’s hope i don’t die any time soon :)

Worst of the worst , reception rude and dismissive even when is the practice that makes the mistake you are still treated like a dog , no apologies just plain plain plain rude , the only good thing there is the nurses I have to visit every 3 months for bloods. I think is the only reason I stay . Reception Staff should not be allowed to work with the public and I am a very understanding person so to make me angry takes a lot . No one will care about this review but it felt good to let it out . @#*£*&_-@@***#

I was recently allocated this surgery, and have only had phone call appointments up until today. The receptionists that i’ve interacted with on the phone and in person have been lovely as has been my doctor. However, today I had to go in to get my blood pressure taken. Firstly, I went to the surgery located on skene street as it was where i was told to go on the allocation email and was where it’s located online and on google maps. However, i had to ask a passerby as I spent about half an hour looking to get in to a place that was all boarded up I was told that it’s closed and been moved to Carden house. I wasn’t informed of this. I then arrived at the Carden House which was luckily only a 10 minute walk straight up from there to be told I had to take my own blood pressure and fill in a form with information about my medication and my blood pressure/pulse. Never have I ever been to a surgery where i’ve had to do this myself. I had no idea what to do, as i’ve always had a nurse do it for me. It was ridiculous, I had to write the name of the medication (I didn’t know the full name). As i’ve said the nurse usually does the blood pressure and fills out the form as they have the details on records so I told the receptionist I didn’t know how to do it and she came and did it for me. I really appreciate her for doing that, she was lovely and didn’t have to as it’s not her job. I then had to ask how I would get my prescription as the form didn’t say whether I had to phone back about when it was ready to collect and where etc. This was such a waste of my afternoon and really put me in a bad mood. My blood pressure probably ended up being way higher than it would have been lol. There needs to be changes regarding this. I’m not a doctor. How am I supposed to know how to take my own blood pressure? How am i supposed to know they’ve changed locations if they don’t email patients about this? Not the best day, it could have gone a lot better if there was more communication from the surgery and more support given upon arrival.

Spent 25 mins of my 30 min break on hold, never got through.Tried e consult, not working at the moment.Asked for a repeat prescription via the website, no email or call saying yes or no.Hopefully after the move is complete, things will improve.

Reception staff is extremely rude !!! You work for the place, you don’t run it! Patients are sick and fragile and need some empathy for god sake! I will be taking it all further!

This is my mothers surgery and it’s by far the worst.NHS needs to review this place.I Spent 25 mins waiting to speak to someone today as my mother is unwell. Finally got to position 2 then the line went dead,Tried calling again only for the line to be busy and call back later.Absolute joke of a practice and would avoid at all costs.# update,After several attempts to get through to drs and getting as far as position 1 it gets cut off again and repeat and repeatNow call and they are closed for lunch.Couldn’t make this up.The worst Dr surgery in Aberdeen.

One of the worst gp practice it is,haven't seen a Dr or nurse since before covid, trying to get through on the phone is at least 45mins and forget the repeat prescription line,it has a limit of 10 lines and they're always full so you don't even get through!!

I have found the reception staff to be helpful and polite. My GP has been excellent and responds as quickly as they can. We are living in times where the NHS is struggling - and so are patients. The reason I give a 3-star review is that econsult can be unavailable for days at a time, though it is good when it is available. Like many practices, takes an age to get through on the phone. The phone message immediately highlights how busy staff are, that it is a zero-tolerance practice (presumably to rudeness and violence), and that if you press the wrong button you will have to go through the whole phone process again.I understand that some patients can be irate or rude to staff, but the message does convey the sense that you are a nuisance for calling and that you had better behave. Feels patronising. However, as said above, my experience has been positive with all staff at this practice. Prompt repeat prescription service. I hope it is not too long before some of the pressure on our NHS is relieved, for the sake of patients and medical staff.Update (August 2023) - the phone greeting has now been changed and feels more welcoming. It is more in line with the helpfulness that the reception staff convey when you speak with them. So have upgraded to 4 stars!
