Surprise View Car Park - Peak District NP
Easy to find and great location. 20-minute walk up a not to steep path, fairly rocky and uneven. Views at the top are well worth the climb. You can do a circular walk that takes in some great views and rocks in an hour plus stops.

Large car park near owler tor and other walks. Towards the back spaces are not marked so easy to get large.camper vans in. Payment for parking is cash at the machine or via phone app, having cash is recommended since phone signal can be really good or poor in the car park (and no in-between)!Short walk to owler tor, longshaw house and padley Gorge plus others sights so well worth planning a day out from here.

A relatively large carpark for plenty of vehicles, car parking charges apply unless you have a disabled badge.We were going to walk to surprise view itself to see the sunset but decided to walk further up, which was a much nicer view in my opinion, even though the clouds did roll in and slightly spoilt our experience!

I parked at 5.30 so as its free after 6pm I only paid for one part hour. The weather was dry sunny and ideal for an evening walk

Surprise View Car Park - Peak District NP
Really easy to find off of the main road.Payment available by cash or card.Plenty of spaces.No toilets or food I'm afraid.A 10 minute walk takes you to millstone edge which has excellent views.Boots are needs for this.It's not a hard walk but very muddy.You can walk even further across the fields and moors to a cave and many beautiful views but you'll need wellies as it's very water logged at present.Not too busy during the week either !!

Surprise View Car Park - Peak District NP
Great spot with some very good paths for wheel or push chairs, no toilet's or even waste bins. Possibly to deter the wildlife form a McDonald's diet. There is so much within a few meters or as many as you can manage, as the cloud dropped it felt like the edge of the world
