I have been trying to get through on the number they gave me and they always cut me off. It would be easier to get a direct line through to God. They must think we are all stupid, and no phone lines are available,This is the government come on this is no joke, when you do get through to someone they put you on hold and then cut you off. Staff are rude, and inconsiderate and don't think, I have been waiting over a year to get my licence back, this government department needs looking into and fast !!!

If I could give minus stars I would. First they lost my provisional licence which I sent with my application and then they returned my new licence WITHOUT my passport. They either lost or stole it and there is no compensations. I couldn’t get through to them in the phone and the webchat doesn’t work.Awful agency and they need to be investigated regarding missing passports. If only we could use someone else.

The DVLA are completely useless. I have been unable to pay a fine and had a somewhat pleasant experience where they said they would put in hold and give me a call back in a month to discuss it further to see if I had the funds. I’ve not received a phone call to discuss funds, but instead a letter saying the fine has now doubled and if I don’t pay it by the 22nd of the month they will take me to court. They are so unbelievably useless and have put me in a horrible circumstance

What an utter disgrace another British government cash cow all they do is rob the public right left and centre. You can’t speak to anyone. It took me 53 minutes of being on hold and you can’t reason with them if you do end up getting through. I made the fatal mistake of leaving my car on the road for less than 24 hours that I had just bought and had only mot’d the day before at 16:30 without taxing it and by 09:15 the next morning it was clamped. To date it has ended up costing me £417. Just what you need in this economy where all you do is work to pay to live and eat. You are the SCUM

Absolutely useless. When I went to renew my tax early they ended up starting it a month before my last one ended, so I paid for one month twice. i tried contacting them about this but heard nothing. A pitiful and fraudulent service.

Appalling service. Would be 0 stars if I could. Paid for V62 application via Post Office...didn't receive log book. Chased DVLA who advised to email application to them. Followed advice, still no log book. Chased DVLA again, advised I need to pay fee again to process application as 6 weeks had passed since they apparently issued the log book, which I haven't received. Shocking!!!

DVLA are not taking calls. They are using an automated system that does not cover all needs, then cutting you off stating they are receiving a high number of call. They want your money and will fine you, but won't speak to you.

Sadly it will not allow a negative star rating. This has to be the worst government agency in the country (and further). I taxed my vehicle as my DD was late and they sent e a letter saying it should be paid by a specific date which it was and they now fine me £80 for it. They have no compassion and are scamming money from the public when a person is trying to do the right thing. Do they not realise that people are suffering as it is, trying hard to put food on the table. If I had genuinely not paid it I could understand but to the DVLA that seems to have no bearing. They are also the slowest service to renew a driving license. In all I am afraid this is a disgraceful service and I certainly agree with an earlier comment the person in charge should be fired and a person with the ability to run this service put in their place.

My pregnant wife tried to renew her V5 to our new address. It's didn't come back after 2 weeks so upon chasing she was told the address didn't match. Despite having cleared the security questions she wasn't told what the problem was and instead told to pay 25 at the post office to get a new form. This could take 28 days. She is now not able to drive the car. And she works for the nhs, several calls back and the DVLA again will not assist in anyway. Pathetic
