Morden Tower
Worth the walk round the back of China town to see this historical building. There’s no access to the tower itself but it’s fun to stand there and imagine Ginsberg being led there to read Howl.

This is next tower along from Ever tower along from Chinatown. This is visible from both sides of the wall.

Morden Tower
The best preserved tower on the Newcastle City walls and a hugely historic venue for poetry, sadly no entry inside now.

An interesting tower that is part of the historic town Wall. English and local history is so good.

The Tower was built about 1290. It is one of five Drum towers that remain of the sixteen that were built as part of the medieval town wall enclosing the city of Newcastle. The tower and wall were built on ground sloping towards the south, which formed part of the precinct of the Dominican Blackfriars, Newcastle, many of the buildings of which still survive. From the 16th century the Morden Tower housed the Company of Plumbers, Plasterers and Glaziers.
