Absolutely terrible. Far too small and under-resourced for a catchment area of this size. Took my 80 year old mum in at 1045 on Tuesday morning, we finally got to leave at 0545 on Wednesday morning after 19 hours!! And alot of other elderly and unwell people were also subjected to a night without any sleep on cheap plastic chairs, overall our visit did more harm than good I would say!One poor guy was there for 28 hours, Another for 24 hours. An eye-opening experience of just how broken the NHS is at the moment.........

My wife went last night to be seen, firstly lie from 111 said appointment booked for 11:45. When she went there staff were very rude, no appointment booked( lie from 111 agent). Not been able to seen a doctors till 6am, she had to come home due a breastfeed child not been feed since 11:30pm.What a disaster our NHS , we were clapping every Thursday covid time for NHS.Really… !! It’s a shame for our citizen.

Absolutely terrible experience. Sat here for 4 hours (at time of writing) waiting for my 91 yr old grandmother to be xrayed after a fall and cutting her head open and a ball like lump on her forehead.People are having to stand around as there is not enough seating.Current wait time for a child according to their own board is over 5 1/2 hours and this keeps rising.Really wish we had gone to George Elliot.

A 9 hour wait and still no results or even contact from the doctors or nurses. The nurses are rude and unwilling to help. They also missed a patient having a seizure and another patient had to alert them to this.

I have had one of the worst experiences of children's A&E. Due to the busy-ness of 111 and symptoms described they said they will try calling me back within 30min or dispatch and ambulance. After 1 hour of no feedback i called to see if an ambulance was coming and they said there was no ambulance available and there could be a long wait so if i could make my own way to the hospital it might be quicker. I waited over 13 hours in childrens A and E yesterday till this morning for my daughter to be seen and at the time of discharge there were still 7 people ahead of me. I appreciate they had a higher number of children with hay fever/ asthma/ breathing related issues but there was very poor communication between hospital staff and patient. My little one was in immense pain from head to toe, temperature, very sleepy and very weak, she could even stand up. Even with calpol and neurofen ot took hours to take effect. Some people who were prioritised over her were walking around, laughing and playing with their family and got seen before my daughter and some had been there much lesser time than my daughter. I eventually had to go outside as the reception was poor to call the 111 service to try speaking to a nurse or get an early out of hours doctors. She was very lovely helpful and reassuring. And gave me advice on how to move forward with my daughters care at home.I dont know what needs to happen but something needs to be looked at.How are patients prioritised. If waiting times change how to tell patients. I entered at 5-6 hour waiting time, that increased to 8-9, then 11-12, then 13. Planning around refurbishment- the corridor looked like a war zone with people just sat on the floor as there were not enough chairs andthe weather it was boiling in there and yet children who had been stripped because temperature was not going down made no difference, are there fans or aircon units available in other parts of the hospital that were not being used.Hats off to the staff who had to deal with upset parents. Thanks for the juice and biscuits.

I was referred to the maternity emergency services by 111 as I am pregnant and I was bleeding, it was a lovely experience to see how quickly they’ve handled it. Within 30 min I was seen, consulted by a doctor and discharged. Baby is fine , they couldn’t explain the reason of the bleeding but they took really good care of me and checked everything possible. 5 star to the nurses and doctors.

Sat in A&E with my wife after being referred here by the doctor at 21:30. It's now 04:07 and still waiting. There are 4 people in the waiting room besides us. Shockingly poor processes that breed inefficientcy

Took my mother, as she has severe pneumonia, couldn’t breathe at all, and got told to wait 15 hours (as there was an investigation or something they said).People were standing outside as there was no space, Ridiculous, Terrible service, what am I paying taxes for?

The minor injuries unit were absolutely amazing. The staff and nurses there are so friendly and helpful. The x-ray unit too were lovely. I came in with a sprained ankle, I was out within an hour!

Another shocking experience - this time in the endoscopy unit.Appointment time given for which we arrived on time. Only patients could stay on the unit so I left my husband having been told it would be 2 - 3 hours before I would be able to fetch him. It's been 2 1/2 hours and he hasn't even been seen yet! No updates, no reasons given - just 'sorry shouldn't be long'!He hasn't eaten since this morning nor had a drink for 6 hours - where's the duty of care? Why give appointment times if you have no intention of working to them? Patients would not be seen if they turned up this late for an appointment!
