Middle Chare Medical Group

I have been with Middle Chare Surgery for 15 years now and I have always been pleased with the level of care and service my family and I have received. I realise times are tough at the moment and people complain that they are unable to get through on the phone, but please try the E-Consult form on their website. It's so easy to do and someone will call you within 24 hours. It really is a great service! The staff do their best, it's not their fault they are busy and there is an alternative point of contact!

Excellent GP practice. All staff lovely providing very high standards of health care. I would recommend the practice to all my friends and family that’s for sure.

We mainly use the Woodlands part of this practice. It is absolutely superb. Receptionists are exceptionally helpful especially Jo, April, and Sue. Always treated as a person not a number. Great nurses too. The help and care from the GPs completes a fantastic set up. Cannot praise any of them too highly. We don't often use Middle Chare itself but that, too, is really good whenever we have had to go there.

It is impossible to get appointments for that day after 9AM and so, they advise to call at 8AM. The issue is, they refuse to turn the phones on at 8AM and so, you have to sit and call repeatedly until you get an answer from them. For people, like myself who start work at 8AM, this means that you have to take a day off work in order to try and book an appointment which in itself is never guaranteed.This morning, I called no less than 40 times before they actually turned the phone on. Once I finally made it through, I was put in a queue with one person in front of me. This queue took 23 minutes to get through and once I finally did, I was told there were no more appointments for that day so an entire hour was wasted.There is no online booking system for appointments, unlike a majority of GP surgeries these days.I used this GP for 18 years and thought it was decent. After moving to another location and coming back, I can really see how dated and unfit for purpose it is in its current way of operating.

Nurse practitioner actually cares and has been great but the practice management needs overhauled. Revolving door of doctors it seems.What is the point of the E-consult system if the response is call us for an appointment". Impossible to reach anyone unless you sit on the phone constantly from 8am which isn't possible when you start work at 8."

Thanks for seeing me so quickly. Obviously it’s hard to get through on the phone but it’s a very busy time of year. All staff from the Receptionist, to the Nurse and Doctor were all very polite and very professional. The Doctor gave a lot of good advice to help alleviate my symptoms when she rang me and they quickly organised a blood test too. Thanks again and all the best for the New Year.

I personally never had any problems with Middlechare, Econsult is easy to use and a GP will get in contact as quickly as possible. Dr Crackett, Dr Leese and Dr Rhodes have always done their upmost best to help look after myself and my family. (I think patients forget that it's one surgery in the middle of Chester le st and their are 1000s of patients under the Middlechare Medical Group for all the practitioners to see)

Rang over 100 times again this morning with the line constantly busy. Staff are usually helpful once you're able to get through but it feels almost impossible most of the time leading to giving up and health issues getting worse.

Saw Dr Sarah Lees this morning, can’t rate the treatment I received highly enough. Extremely friendly and helpful reception staff at Woodlands surgery and pharmacy also. Can highly recommend.

If I could give no stars I would! Car park is a joke always packed and never anyone parked there is in the doctor's surgery. Turned up to baby clinic after parking 10 minutes walk away to be told aww it's not on. Absolute joke! Will be looking for a new GP immediately.
