We owe Hettie everything! We would recommend her in a heart beat to anyone.In October of last year, we approached Hettie and gave her the unenviable task of helping to prepare our two children (then aged 8 and 10) for UK entrance exams in a very short 2.5-month timeframe. At this point our children had only ever been taught in Swiss in the local Swiss system; with a curriculum that was at least 2 years behind the UK system.From the outset we felt confident that Hettie would do everything she could to help us, despite most children coming to Hettie for help at least a year in advance and with a UK-system brackground.Hettie was always friendly, calm, relaxed, patient, punctual, professional, a great communicator both during lessons and in between lessons by email and incredibly flexible and receptive to the fact we were both full-time working parents. Hettie tutored remotely from the UK to our home in Switzerland with great ease and has brilliant systems in place to teach remotely. Above all our children loved her lessons and both respected her and responded brilliantly to her teaching techniques.I am pleased to say both our children passed their entrance exams and started at their new school (their first choice) today. Once their exams were over in January, we continued with Hettie's tuition all the way through to the Summer holidays to help bridge their gap in knowledge.We would not hesitate to work with Hettie again in the future if either of our children needed some extra help.Hettie was without a shadow of a doubt instrumental in helping our children secure a place at their preferred school.Thank you Hettie for EVERYTHING x

My daughter took online lessons from Hettie and she passed her exams with flying colours.We found Hettie to be a very enthusiastic teacher with excellent teaching skills who immediately put our daughter at ease.Our daughter really enjoyed her weekly lessons and always looked forward to the next session which didn't make studies seem like a chore. I do appreciate all your work starting from flexibility in schedule, worksheets that you sent, lessons feedback and work material suggestions . It is very difficult for me sometimes to explain new methods, concepts or topics to Aidan but thanks to you I did not had to worry about that. My son (age 10) started sessions with Hettie to improve his confidence in his work and himself. He has now finished the weekly Skype lessons and has greatly increased confidence and, having passed the 11+, is looking forward to starting Year 7.Hettie connected really well with my son, took the time to get to know him and would tailor activities to his interests. She was perceptive to his mood, balancing favourite topics with those that needed a bit more work.He enjoyed the online sessions, looked forward to the challenges she set him and worked well to achieve them. She set clear expectations with homework and was thorough in going over areas or topics that required more work.I am really pleased we found Hettie as her patience, gentle persuasion and encouragement have really helped him to progress. We would thoroughly recommend Hettie as a fantastic English teacher. She had only 8 weeks to prepare our 12 year old for his entrance exam but was able to help him to make significant progress. He had never done a reading comprehension before, but with Hettie's encouraging and patient approach, he successfully passed and was offered a place at our first choice school. Daniel has his lessons via Skype as we live abroad. It has been very successful, work is sent by email and then I scan and send the answers back so that Hettie can mark them. We have decided to continue with the lessons with the focus now on spelling and grammar - International Schools don't seem to worry about things like that!!

Hettie is currently tutoring our son in English and maths (primary) online via Skype. We have found her to be reliable, very knowledgeable and friendly in all of the lessons. She has built a rapport effortlessly with our son and we can see his confidence growing already. We are especially pleased with how seamless the online lessons were, as this was a new concept for us. He actively looks forward to his lessons with Hettie. We would have no hesitation in recommending her to anyone looking for a tutor.

Last year, I was looking of a professional tutor to help me with English Language as English is not my native language. After a month of searching, I thankfully came across Hettie. I was immediately excited to work with her as from the first few lessons we had she was really professional and friendly. I remember that she would follow the necessary procedures to understand my level of my English and help me built on that, while we worked hard to get a high grade by the end of the year. Hettie was always patient to answer any silly questions I had and explain them as many times as needed. In addition, what I really liked about our lessons is when Hettie would check the homework and stop at every single mistake I had and explain it thoroughly. I believe that this helped me significantly because the way she explained things to me made sense. In other words, the next time I had to face a familiar exercise, I knew exactly how to handle it.During the first few months of the school year, I was one of the pupils who got really low grades, such as Ds, Es and many times not even finishing the exam practice paper. However, towards the end of the year and with the help of Hettie, I managed to get a B in the official exam, something I am really happy and proud of. I am sure that this progress would not even exist without the support of Hettie as she was a great motivation and inspiration for me to sit and work hard.
