St Mary's Church

My husband, Maj. William T Mills, was a member of the 95th which was stationed in Horham during WW II. He flew B17s. In 1984 we went to Horham and two brothers from Stradbroke..a nearby town, came to give us a tour of what was left of WW II sites. They were young boys when all the Yanks were stationed in their hometown. They were ever so friendly and just stopped what they were doing to talk to my husband about memories. The people who were stationed there were going to rebuild the Red Feather Club for returnees and we saw St. MARY'S Church. One building in town was called Ancient House. It was mentioned in the Domesday Book of the 1100s. It was a very pleasant experience for my husband.
