Middleton Hall Courtyard

We stopped for lunch after doing the wetlands walk. Shortly after we sat down half a dozen courtyard staff started decorating the courtyard with bunting. They placed ladders alongside us, climbed on the roof above us and generally shouted and clattered as they completed their task. The whole experience was unpleasant - impossible to have conversation and surely contravening every health and safety regulation. I still can't believe that it happened nor that the staff didn't have any idea how unacceptable it was.

The Courtyard at Middleton Hall is free to enter (donations are welcomed for parking). The building housing the courtyard in the Tudor Barn which is a fabulous location, but sadly I read that it is on the 'at risk' register. There is a small selection of retailers in the courtyard, each with a unique and carefully curated selection of products. We were particularly impressed by the knowledge and enthusiasm of each business. I bought some alcohol free drinks from Split Drinks, an enthusiatic and innovative wine and spirit merchant. We ate at Bake180 and thought the food and coffees were delicious and good value. We had no complaints at all and will definitely return to buy treats and gifts. We look forward to visiting the Hall and Gardens next time we come.

Beautiful grounds even though the Hall is closed until April. .also the gardens to but you can walk around and the coffee shop & antique shops was open

It's home to an eclectic mix of shops/crafts/antiques/coffee shop, offering everything from dog grooming to artisan gins. Great place to visit on a sunny afternoon, as it's set in a beautiful original stable yard adjacent to Middleton Hall. Plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy an ice-cream/sandwich/coffee/cake, and sheltered just enough to keep any wind at bay, but allow the sunshine in.

12 independant small businesses are held in this lovely old courtyard looked over by an old Tudor Barn. Some great little shops and a coffee shop too. I loved the little wool shop in the corner which is an Alladdins cave of lovely natural yarns and fibres. The sweet shop is a blessing too as we got ourselves a quarterbof chocolate limes to eat as we went for a walk around the Middleton Hall Estate and RSPB Middleton Lakes. This place has everything you want from a quiet day out in the country.

Went to Middleton Hall plant fair on Sunday 27th June .Decided to have a bacon and sausage sandwich at Bake 180 .Absolutely awful £3.95 its complete rip off. Never again. Be warned
