I have never had east african food before, so, no particular expectation at the beginning. When the food came to our table it looked very appetizing! We tried the tasting board (not literally served on a board but on a big round plate instead), one with goat stew and another one with chicken curry. And I must say, every element on the plate worked! Some had mild flavour and some had sharp, tangy, and spicy flavour, and when you try them together you get a tasty combination. I especially like the goat stew, soo tender and flavourful. And the salad. 'Oh it's just a simple salad'. But no. It was so refreshing and tied everything together. Might have to come back so I could try other things on the menu.

Been wanting to come here for ages and it didn’t disappoint! I had the Mock Lamb dish and it was so delicious. The flavours in every element were divine and the staff were lovely. The full plate was £10 which was filling and great value for money. So glad I stopped by.

This was absolutely amazing! We had the Awaze chicken and a salad bowl with the croquette between two! So tasty and plenty, my new favourite spot in Bristol!

What a WONDERFUL find!!!!! We were walking past and got drawn in by the delicious smell from Jikoni's courtyard tucked away on a quiet side street. The owners were super friendly and welcoming. We had never tried East African food so this was our first taste....and it won't be our last!! We will be back at Jikoni's to try everything on the menu and I think it's our new favourite spot. We both had the chicken curry which was NEXT LEVEL! There was so much flavour and love in all the food we tried. The lentil fritters with green chilli sauce were delicious and the potatoes with pili pili sauce were properly delicious! Great balance of veggie options on the menu at such affordable prices. Thank you thank you thank you Iman and James for being so wonderful and cooking up such glorious bowls of soul. See you again soon xxx

Absolutely incredible food! One of my favourite things I’ve tasted in Bristol (and I’ve tried a lot of food in Bristol lol) would highly recommend! Staff are lovely too :)

Had a meal there last night it was such lush food. This is a real gem in Bristol city.The restaurant is tucked away at the end of a old courtyard with the dining room at the top of some stairs. There lots of small East African dishes like mezzes and we shared it all. I had never had anything like the dishes served before, it was a real treat. The staff were very friendly and enjoyed a good chat.I'll definitely be coming back!

Wow, just wow. Having just moved to Bristol this place was high on our lists to visit, just walking past the smell of the food is incredible. We went for lunch today and were definitely not disappointed. The food was amazing the team are super friendly. Such a great spot, could not recommend enough and can't wait to visit again.

Truly excellent food and really lovely local feel to it. Everyone in our party had different items and all of them were very tasty and expertly presented. I'd particularly recommend the croquettes and also the coffee.Excited to try the dinner menu next time!
