Overall a fantastic service. Rang them late in the afternoon for them to turn up early the following morning. Glen was very efficient and professional and left the area clean and tidy. Payment was easy with a card machine. Could not ask for a better service. Would definitely use again and come highly recommended.

Glen arrived promptly. Able to track him on route to our property. Dealt with the blockage. Explained what he had done and what had caused the problem. Polite, professional and friendly.

Surprisingly excellent. We’d already paid £60 to somebody else who put a hose down the drain and then left saying ‘all done’ (it wasn’t). Glen was a good humoured Swiss Knife who just kept on going with a sequence of tools. By the end he’d diagnosed the root cause, prised off a concrete cap and brought up a couple pints worth of gravel thereby unblocking the drain. So surprisingly excellent (I chose them from their website) and a company I’d recommend to anybody with a blocked drain.

Gordon from Alpha Rod was the third person I had come and investigate bad smells coming into my house. Unlike the others, he went above and beyond when it proved a real mystery, getting involved with my next door neighbours (it was their drain system!) and dealing with a potentially awkward situation very tactfully. Friendly service, took the time to clearly explain his findings and obviously very knowledgeable - a total professional. Would highly recommend, thanks!

We have no hesitation in recommending Alpha Rod. We had been noticing a bad egg smell in our kitchen for a few weeks and finally traced it to the kitchen sink drain. We had also noticed glugging noises near the kitchen sink drain. As the toilets and the kitchen sink were not blocked, we decided to call Alpha Rod, who’d been recommended to us on social media.Young “Gordie the Gopher” from Alpha Rod turned up to do a smells investigation. His first task was to find a manhole for the drain and he found one in our neighbour’s property near our fence. On opening the manhole he discovered we had a block downstream in the Wessex water sewer line. He told us that we could get Wessex Water to unblock the drain and that they would do it for free. He also said he could use the remaining time we would be billed for to see if he could unblock the drain. We accepted his offer and said we would be happy to pay for any extra time if it was needed since our prime wish was to clear the blockage. Gordon went about the process with enthusiasm and his joyous triumphant jump, shouting “Yay!” and assuming a muscleman pose, heralded the clearing of the blockage after a few minutes of high pressure water jetting. He then used his CCTV camera to check that the sewer was clear for a considerable distance further down. We had quite a stink in the air after that, but were very relieved that the issue had been resolved completely!

We had prompt service from Gordy, a very knowledgeable, friendly and informative engineer. He managed to partially unblock the drain and returned the following day to complete the task. He advised on long-term solution to roots growing into the drain and we will have Alpha-Rod back to do this work.

Contacted Alpha Rod as Wessex water contractor to remove a Manhole in our garden. The responded promptly to an email, organised a site visit and fitted us to their busy schedule within 3 weeks of contact. Wayne and Danny arrived on time and completed the job within a day. The were polite and left the area as tidy as they could. Can not fault the service at all! Thank you so much
