A lovely friendly welcome! Rather tired decor etc but good atmosphere. Open mic session very entertaining and all welcome but players need to book on in advance. Small friendly bar run by volunteers. Central position with parking nearby.Update: Since writing this there have been refurbishments. Also due to covid the theatre is closed, but there are some online zoom sessions to watch and join in to.

Fantastic performance of the Christmas panto and all credit to the cast and crew. Gorgeous little theatre which we are looking forward to returning to.

The fella running this place Hayden is very helpful friendly and always helps you out up on stage to get ur gear together for the open mike give credit to this guy he puts his heart and soul into trying keep the theatre open nice and old worldly inside and cozy too and very friendly people there make you feel very welcome !

A fantastic local theatre which is a great asset to the local community.The volunteers are all very friendly and helpful and prices for performances are very reasonable. There is a small bar that stocks but alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks and a range of snacks. Again all reasonably priced.The seats are comfortable and there's plenty of leg room.Performances vary encompassing serious plays as well as comedies, often it's the local amateur theatre group putting on the performances and they're always great. The panto is especially good.The theatre also has groups for children with both a juniors and a senior's group. These are usually hour long workshops where the children learn various techniques and prepare for potential roles in performances.Overall a great little theatre with enthusiastic volunteers who create a very warm, friendly and inviting atmosphere.

The John Peel Theatre
This is a great little community run theatre. Their panto would give some of the bigger productions a run for their money. There is a small shop for snacks and drinks in the foyer that caters for young and old alike. I loved my visit and will definately be going to future shows.
